I’ve had the $35 free shipping guarantee turned off for a while now. Everyone gets charged shipping. No issues.
I created a promo code offering free shipping over $55. But now my dashboard says I need to turn OFF the free shipping guarantee or no one can use this code. I’m in the US and only sell in the US. Should I just ignore this?
I’m in agreement with a lot of people that the $35 threshold is way too low. This is the first time I’ve tried to implement this offer (having been discouraged before by this same glitch).
Just ignore it. They want everyone to use the free shipping guarantee because I'm guessing that will probably be the threshold for free shipping when they implement Etsy Slime (Amazon Prime rip off) for buyers. In Etsy's normal, non-precise way they are telling you that if you have the FSG, (which you don't as I was still charged shipping when I carted $41 worth of merch) the buyer will get free shipping before they get to your $55 amount, so you're wasting your time. Since you don't have the FSG your coupon will work fine,
I don't see where you have free shipping guarantee for over $35. If you did, you listings that are over that amount would be showing free shipping.
Right? That’s what I’m saying. Etsy is telling me to turn it off when it’s not on. Like big bold message on my dashboard telling me how to do it. Thanks for confirming you don’t see anything on your end.
I guess worst case I can refund shipping if the promo code proves unuseable.
Sorry, not “dashboard” but the marketing page, alongside the offer I created -
You're offering a US free shipping guarantee.
Buyers in the US will not be eligible for this sale. If you'd like to offer this to US buyers, you can turn off your free shipping guarantee in shipping settings while this coupon is active. As a reminder: a free shipping guarantee means items and orders $35 USD and over ship for free to US buyers.

Thanks for checking! I’m going to read up on what you’re saying about the Prime knock off. Sounds terrible.
I just had a customer tell me she has $110 in an order, and we have free ship at $70 and they want customer to pay $60 in shipping. Etsy IT screwed up completely. Customer service useless other than to say they send it to management team and management team has never responded to any of my questions that I was told by customer service they would. Won't even give a street address to file formal complaint with upper management. So many issues with Etsy against sellers and they don't care they just want the almighty greenback in their pocket.
Yes, I think it's odd that I tried out the free ship guarantee at $35, and then a customer bought $89 worth of stuff and it charged her for the shipping.
