Anyone else receiving emails and messages about Etzy wanting you to confirm your account by typing your email address in the comments or else your account will be suspended? Is this real or a scammer?

New shops regularly get these scam emails
Mark as spam
Remember, Etsy now has a From Etsy tab under Messages.
If a message claiming to be from Etsy appears in the basic messages tab, then they are NOT from Etsy.
@LEVibesDesign: "Anyone else receiving emails and messages about Etzy wanting you to confirm your account ..." There are innumerable threads in this forum about that very issue.
It is a SCAM - you might want to read the excellent post by @bradgoodell in https://community.etsy.com/t5/Managing-Your-Shop/How-to-Spot-a-Scam-No-a-Buyer-Doesn-t-Need-Your-Ema... and https://community.etsy.com/t5/Technical-Issues/Why-do-they-ask-me-for-my-e-mail-in-order-to-make-a-p...

Real messages from Etsy are now going into their own section on your messages page https://community.etsy.com/t5/Announcements/New-From-Etsy-section-in-Messages/m-p/143722497#M1899
Be sure to mark the message as SPAM so that it does not affect your stats.
There have been about 3 posts a day about this a day for at least 4 months.
@ThePurplePuppy I believe you! But I’m only on Forum a few hours a day, and not every day. So I probably don’t see them all.
I am only in here when I take a break from sewing to rest my bod--and then again just before bed (like now) but that 12 in one swoop was just one look here.
I bet if one spent the best part of a day there would be up to 100. And remember--we only see a small portion of those who get scammed and never show here.
@ThePurplePuppy There was a gal on here yesterday or the day before that lost over $1,000 to a scammer. No wonder they don’t stop.
Good morning--and yes, I saw that thread!
Yes I did too! I accidentally responded and sent my email address once before realizing they’re fake and now they’ve sent me the same message 3 more times. The sad thing is the phone app didn’t have a “mark as spam” option and I wasn’t able to get to my computer to do it until a couple days later and now I’m no longer on track to being a star seller in December because it thinks I didn’t respond to a customer message. As someone who tries really hard to create a positive customer experience and takes pride in my star seller rating, losing it next month because of these scams really hurts. ***Important lesson: mark as spam asap!!! Especially if you’re a small shop who doesn’t get a lot of messages***
you can access etsy from a browser on your phone, you don't need to get to a computer
Edit: For some reason I didn’t see there were other replies to this thread. After seeing stories where people actually lost a lot of money, my star seller rating is nothing. I’m so sorry if this happened to you and I am genuinely upset for you. This is so aweful!
