I have had an Etsy account for years though I have never made more than a handful of sales. But recently I discovered an on-demand print site called Printify. They allow you to create products and link them directly to your Etsy account. I thought it would be the perfect thing for launching a new fundraiser! So last Friday I posted the link on Instagram and within 12 hours had made 23 sales and that when Etsy suspended my account at the $400 mark, saying I needed to enter my tax ID number; which their policy does not require until someone makes $600 in a year, but I digress. I didn't realize I was missing information so I did it ASAP! THEN they asked for a photo id. What online shop does that?! My photo id is in my married name and I am in the process of getting my SSN changed, so I don't have names that match. My bank account is verified but I can't change my name on the site. They kept emailing me the "3 step process" which all link to the photo id upload page but never provide a way to change anything else or allow me to speak to the same representative to resolve the issue, it is always a different person. They have since stopped communicating entirely. I actually paid for my orders on Printify out of pocket because my business reputation matters to me, and Etsy is holding my $400 hostage and my shop remains suspended. So, yeah, I'd love to hear if someone has a resolution to this! Now let's see if Etsy takes this comment down before anyone can reply.
