Etsy won't let me buy anything and refuse to fix it

So I found out Etsy limited my account one day and needed me to reset my password, so I did. 

Then I tried to make an order, all items I've ordered many times, and they all got canceled with the explanation of "we didn't think this was authorized by you, if it was then order again." So I did and the same thing happened.

I then messaged them to ask if they can fix whatever they did because it obviously messed up my account somehow, and all they did was send me another password reset. I reset it and tried AGAIN. AT FIRST IT WAS SUCCESSFUL, but about an hour later it did the same. Thing. My credit card was also locked by my bank at this point for making too many of the same transaction so I had to spend an hour on the phone to tell the fraud line it was me buying not someone who stole my info.

I emailed again telling them this keeps happening and something it wrong, and get emailed back with no solutions just a guy telling me "whatever sometimes things don't go through, just try again". 

Well I tried AGAIN anddddddd refunded again. So am I just never allowed to buy anything on Etsy again like? They won't do anything about it when clearly there is an issue. I've spend 400$ now trying to get these items, some have already been marked as shipped, and I have to wait to get refunded now. Has anyone dealt with this???

Send Etsy one email only. After the initial reply, keep replying with the I Still Need Help link at the bottom of their reply. After several form letters, you will eventually get a real person to deal with it if you only use that I Still Need Help link. Don't start a new email inquiry, or they will assume the first problem was solved and close it, then send your new inquiry to the back of the line, and you'll have to start over again.

I think I have been talking with a person, the bottom of his name says Etsy Trust and Safety, and even after explaining this all to him he told me "Sometimes orders cancel, just try again" meanwhile this has literally never happened to me until after they did this to my account.

@atkinsnaturals  - I admit I'm a bit confused. First you say you are having difficulty making a purchase & that Etsy is immediately cancelling your orders. Then you end by saying that you have spent $400.00 on items you have purchased, some have been mailed, but you want to be refunded.

So you no longer want the items you ordered? If that is the case, you will need to contact the shop(s) you have purchased from. Depending on whether or not they accept cancellations, whether the order is custom/personalized, whether it has or has not been shipped will play into each shop's response as to whether they will cancel & refund the order.

To avoid any future problems, you can open a Buyer's account. You will need a different email to do this. But you can use the same credit card info. as in your shop. While you'll need to disclose both accounts in your public profile, your buyer's account will be separate from your shop.

No I've spent 400$ trying to get these items, etsy keeps canceling my orders and they don't refund you right away, so you have to wait 2-5 days. And some items have already been marked as shipped because I think the seller sent them out in the brief window that I made an order before it was canceled. I do want these items, that's why I keep trying to order them but am being completely stonewalled by etsy and their support won't do anything about it.

If I do make another account, where do I disclose it on my profile? I think I may just have to at this point.

For the orders that you placed that did get approved & possibly even shipped, you will need to contact the shops you purchased from about cancelling, etc.

As for orders that were "pending" while Etsy and their payment processor tried to get the purchases approved - if there is still any sort of hold on your money (a charge awaiting approval) - that is on your credit card company. You need to contact them. 

Editing - do not try to keep repurchasing items, even if all you are basically trying to do is be sure the Shop gets paid for the order that they have shipped.  This may only dig you a deeper hole with your credit card. Since you are having problems right now, pause for minute.

Here's how to declare your accounts

1. On Etsy.com, click the Your Account icon.
2. Click Account settings.
3. Click Edit profile. 
4. Type your bio into the About field.
5. When you’re done, click Save changes.

If you have more than one Etsy account, you must list all of them in the Public Profile section of each account.

@atkinsnaturals , If there is something wrong with your account, then log out and purchase as a guest. Also if there is a problem purchasing with your account why would you continue trying?

I will try! I did that because it's literally what they told me to do, and keep telling me to do. I did mention that a couple of times.

If these sellers sell on their websites, then purchase directly from them, or ask them to bill you Paypal, Stripe, Square. But, your cc might be flagged by now wherever you buy and you'll need your banks help.

I purchased an item for my shop with the credit card on amazon and it went through, so I don't think it's the card I think etsy may have flagged the card and they need to unflag it, which may make it so even as a guest I won't be able to get the items, but thus far I've not been able to get them to do anything but tell me "oh, just try again!" I'm definitely going to check if these sellers have websites, I really want to support them!

Are you using phone or computer?  It sounds like you may have malware on either one that causing the system not to accept you.  I would suggest before trying again on Etsy to have your phone or computer checked out to make sure there is no malware. 

Also did your bank indicate any other issues with the card?  Have they given you further information on whether or not it has been used.

Was your account hacked?  At any point there may still be keylogging or other malware causing these issues, If you have not had your device cleaned you may want to do that rather than trying to keep purchasing on Etsy.

Update I tried my purchases with a different credit card and it worked. With the card that didn't work I tried an amazon order for my shop and it worked. I think etsy has blocked my card and I'm going to have to try and get them to unblock it.

Just an update for everyone but I messaged Etsy again for a new person and they did confirm my account had still been restricted to that specific card and they have unblocked me I guess the first guy I got didn't really want to deal with it lol
