Etsy shipping profiles does not support USPS Ground Advantage for packages over one pound

I am unable to create a shipping profile for packages that weigh over a pound and include USPS Ground Advantage.  The only options are Priority Mail, First Class mail (which isn't right) Priority Express, Priority International.  USPS Ground advantage is not an option.  I spoke to customer service who said they are "working on it". USPS Ground Advantage was introduced in July 2023.    How long does it take to add this optoin???

Any advice?  Is there a work around?

I can see and often use USPS Ground Advantage when listing and shipping items that weigh several pounds.

Maybe that is because I offer free shipping so the weight does not matter?

Do you use fixed shipping and select "free" shipping?
If so Etsy added Ground Advantage as an option on fixed shipping a while back.

Yes, I do see it is an option when I go to ship (even though I do not uses Etsy shipping) but I cannot offer it as an option to my customers.  It is an Etsy issue, not USPS.

  Etsy needs it be shown as an option.

@SerendipitySales: "Is there a work around?" Select First Class for Ground Advantage packages up to 15.99 ounces. If you want 16 ounce and heavier packages to be able to go Ground Advantage, also select Parcel Post. Keep in mind that Ground Advantage for 16 ounce plus packages can have a significantly longer estimated in transit time (depending on zone) than the under 16 ounce packages and Etsy delivery estimates do not seem to take that into consideration.

Since GA has been in effect, I have found it takes 2-3 days longer than Priority, but on long distances, sometimes they are almost the same.  Etsy's delivery estimates are not accurate.  I'm in Oregon and they show an estimated delivery date as soon as early as 2 days to the East Coast

You have to select both 1st class package (under shipping services) and Parcel Select.
Parcel select is under "advanced shipping services" that is located at the bottom of "shipping services".

You have to select both. 
If you just select 1st class and an item is 1 lb or more, a shopper will only see Priority.
If both 1st class and Parcel select are checked a shopper will see the PS option on heavier items.


I highly doubt Etsy is working adding Ground Advantage and removing 1st class package and Parcel Select.
It's been 2 years IMO that should have been done within a day or two.

When you print postage, you'll see the GA option.

Sigh.  From what I can tell, this has changed recently. I went back into my settings and updated them just LAST MONTH, and labelled them all "May 2025" to reflect the available ground shipping options.  But it's changed since then. This may not be Etsy's fault -- it may be an API issue with their Pitney Bowes service provider -- but as a seller, this is absolutely unacceptable and ridiculous -- to have my shipping settings be monkeyed with behind the scenes without realizing it. Very disappointed in the situation. The shipping issue is not only on Etsy, other sites have difficulty maintaining integrated shipping. Etsy was a bright spot in this regard, but looking at this: it's a waste of time and a loss of sales. These issues need to be addressed once and for all. I could use a third party to buy the shipping, but I want to quote an accurate price for the shipping for the customer. Integrated shipping with Etsy is the only real way to do that, and have the prices updated when USPS changes their prices every year or two. Boo, Etsy.

@SpokaneCurio   Shipping profiles for fixed have Ground Advantage listed.  This was changed several months ago. 

For calculated, the Parcel select has to be selected for Ground Advantage.  It is a display issue and has been going on since the change a few years ago.  Etsy has not changed the wording.

It is not an API issue from Pitney Bowes.

Etsy recently removed their new processing time frame which was separate.  They told us via email to check our profiles to make sure they are right.
