Currently getting emails from etsy for orders I did not place and do not show up on my purchases page.
the emails are from Etsy's official no reply email and have provided a link:[This content has been removed by Moderation. Please do not share unsafe links in the Forums.]
that leads to nothing and the email shows My personal shipping address.
I am currently speaking with Etsy support but Even I do not think they know whats going on.
If my personal/home address is listed in the email and everything including the email from etsy appears to be genuine from the no reply email then I have reason to believe that etsy's no reply email has been hacked and customer information has been leaked.
I am posting this for documentation purposes and time log/stamp purposes if this post is deleted by etsy than it could be considered as evidence and that the deletion of this post and record could be construed as coverings up evidence.
@HephaestusForgeCraft read those links above.
@Martybugs you may say that but that leads to a superficial understanding of things you cannot easily spoof both Email and certificates and that is the reason most phishing links provide self signed Certs.
again still waiting on that call from a supervisor.
As a starting point, post the headers of one of the emails here for analysis.
@mudgePlant not necessarily some posts get reported both are not against TOU's and if my posts previous were against TOU's then I would be banned from posting.
sarcasm only distracts from the matter at hand if you have nothing better to say then please keep it to your self for now.
@Martybugs Already looked at the headers and that is why they are listed.
]everyone can look at things in developer mode/look at the html.
in some ways I think you are trying to help but other trying to obscure and make me look like I don't know what I am talking about are you you sure you know what's going on when you seem to keep posting as if you know better than the person dealing with things?
Looking at the HTML is very different from looking at the email headers.
Nearly every day there are sellers here posting about scam messages, some of them are so easily known to be scams, yet unaware sellers still fall for them. When sellers first started to post here to help you, there were merely trying to trying to determine if you got a scam email or not. Not sure why you are so hostile to those trying to help you.
If you are knowledgable about examining email headers & are certain that email is legit, is it possible there is someone you know who is placing these orders for you (assuming these are real emails)? If you are not logged into your account & make a purchase as a guest, the purchase would not show in your account, but you would get an email from Etsy about it. Have you checked your security settings on Etsy to see if there are any unusual logins?
Hi, Hackers and scammers never give up do they??? Rastroboy
It's very simple to spoof from email addresses, if in doubt look at the message source or properties depending on your email software.
