Hello, I started 2x 2$ a day ads, and yesterday and today I have only gotten 20 views for both, and normally etsy would eat that up, but i wonder why my ads arent even getting spent? Thank you!
People are not searching for your listings.
Wouldn't it be shown just on the etsy homepage? I haven't used all my tags, do you think there are better ones to get more advertising for fidgets?
ALWAYS use all of your tags with relevant 2 - 4 word phrases. If you aren't those are missing opportunities.
You will have to research your own niche to find out which ones will work for you.
They should be literally descriptive - size, shape, colour, materials, style, intended use, recipient, occasion, gift suggestion.
I imagine Etsy's algorithms have been focused on Valentine's Day listings along with other items they feel are trending. Another issue may be Etsy Ad competition.
If a listing isn't getting attention, Etsy Ads won't necessarily help it. What I've found helps is doing a shop and listing evaluation along with revisiting my targeted audience. These can change. They may be using different search terms or a trend may have changed. Has competition grown? If so, it can help to check them out to see how to make your shop and listings stand out.
Do you think that offering free shipping VS my item being cheaper and paying for 7$ shipping is better?
Well you need to accept returns if you are shipping to the EU/UK. It is possible lacking a complete shop, no policies, no about page is allowing Etsy to move your items further back in search and may even hurt the ads.
If the ads are not being clicked on, either the buyers found something else or they were just browsing and not interested in looking further. There are over 1000 items with ads for just a simple search.
Normally I do accept replacements, not returns. I state that if you need a replacement as long as photo proof i would send another out. Do you think I need to enable returns? Also, How/where would I add polices/about pages?
I have just added a GPDR Privacy Policy and changed my tags, and also accepted return and exchanges. also cancellations within (6hrs).
@3DHelperPrinted If your budget is too low your ad may not get enough exposure to get clicks. Try adding videos to all of your listings.
Already added. I might raise it to a fiver per.
@3DHelperPrinted: The way that ads work in practice is that FIRST your listing must meet the search requirements to rank high enough to be considered for an ad slot. Then, and only then, Etsy will "auction" off the available ad slots to those qualifying listings that they think will generate the most revenue for them.
If your 'Etsy Ads Performance' page is showing low 'views' (which should really be called exposures) then it means that the listing is not matching searches.
The results that search now returns may very well mean that your listings will be shown as ads but they are not being shown to the right people.
