Mailing in Canada

We are a Canadian business. When we get orders from Canada and mail them with Canada Post our shipping badge goes down 3% each time. We always mail on time and yet we are demoted in our shipping badge. Why?

Evidently you are not using tracking.

Are you using Etsy labels? If you're buying lettermail, you will get dinged in star seller.

Hi @2bellsisters,

We've double-checked the three orders affecting your Star Seller, it appears that one order didn't have a valid tracking number and the tracking number you've added on the other orders are invalid.

As a seller from Canada, aside from shipping an order on or before the ship-date, you also need to add a valid tracking number to orders that has a total item value of CA$15 and above. For more information about this, you may checkout this Help Article.

We mail our orders within Canada via Canada Post "letter mail" and have never (since 2016) had a complaint about our shipping! It sure seems unfair that this should affect our star seller status in such a huge way. One order mailed via "letter mail" brings down our shipping star by a very large percentage! Also, one of those 3 orders was hand delivered!

We're expected to use tracking, but Etsy seems utterly clueless as to how expensive tracking is within Canada or simply doesn't care..  I use tracking for my U.S. orders but not my Canadian, so Star Seller is something I'll never see, and quite frankly that doesn't bother me in the slightest.

@NapkinNook   I completely agree with this.  I use tracking (now that they've made it worthwhile) to the U.S. but never in Canada.    It's a good thing I never took the star seller system seriously.  It is completely flawed, and designed for the United States only with no thought to tracking rates anywhere else.

This is by design so etsy can screw over small sellers and keep their rating low while the prop up their gloabalist buddies that run big business on etsy.. once you know you know. Its called agenda 2030  un sdgs. Etsy is part of it and the WEF the CEO of etsy.
