I have a Zebra 450 label printer and have played with its settings and spoken to the company.
I have several other family members who sell on Etsy, use the same laser printer, and have this same issue. It is ONLY with shipping labels purchased through Etsy and not with labels purchased on Stamps.com or other vendors. Labels purchased from other vendors print clearly with this lasers printer.
If I print Etsy labels on my inject printer, they're just fine. The issue seems to be in the conversion to 4x6 laser labels.
Does anyone else have this same experience? Any tips for getting a more defined, crisp, sharp print with your Etsy purchased USPS labels?
I've messed with dithering and other settings before and it made no difference. But the PO is starting to complain. Fortunately it hasn't caused me any lost packages yet, but I would love to give the mail carriers a much sharper label to read.

I can't speak to this exact issue, but today I printed out a shipping label though shipstation and oh my gosh was it darker and more clear. I just use my regular printer, but there is definitely a difference between etsy labels and other labels. eta: I do use a laser printer, but not a special postal label one.
I have a Zebra GK420d and mine print out okay. I'm not sure if this is helpful to you though!!
This isn't a solution, but I'll commiserate with you and jump on the bandwagon. I've been having trouble with labels for over a year now! I have a Canon ImageClass LBP6030w laser printer and my Etsy labels have been printing terribly for a long time.
My work around until recently was to turn the labels into PDF's and then print them. They came out a little sharper that way. Recently though, even this fix isn't working. My labels are getting fuzzier by the day. I just put in a brand new toner cartridge again too! Not sure how to get around the issue any more, but it seems it's a problem with Etsy's labels and no one else's. If I buy a label directly from USPS it prints fine.
I'm having this same issue with a Rollo thermal printer. I configured everything in the printer settings that I could and when printing from Etsy, the labels are really light. I just printed a label through Paypal for a personal shipment and it was perfectly dark so it makes me think there is something wrong within Etsy causing the light labels. Thoughts?
This is what I'm hearing from so many others, and even family has been using Stamps.com just to get better quality label printing. How do we get Etsy to improve their labels?
Ugh this seemed to start all of a sudden for me. I usally highlight the address and right click to print. The bold name in the address is fine but the address underneath is way too light. The Dymo 450 is otherwise working fine..... its just with etsy.
I have this same issue with only etsy labels on rollo. My density is turned all the way up and they are still light. Anyone find a solution?
It's your printer. I have no problems with my printer and Etsy labels and I have a cheap printer.
Check your ink. And if you use offline ink that may be the reason too.
