I recently updated my legal and tax information from my name to a trade name for my Etsy shop. It was verified at the time.
My bank account details have not been updated to match the new trade name. Despite this, the system incorrectly shows a green "Verified" button, even though the bank account name and number do not properly match.
Today I want to update the bank account number to match the trade name. But when I try to enter the current account number on file (as it requests to enter the current account number before editing), the system tells me "The account number you entered doesn't match what we have on file. Try again.” However, I am sure the number is correct.
I am wondering if the problem here is that the system is displaying a "Verified" button even though the bank account information is not properly paired with the trade name.
Has anyone ever encountered this situation?
