Hi there,
I'm trying to report an infringement since a few days but the Etsy Reporting Portal seems to have a bug. When I try to select something, it doesn't check the box but says "X reports/properties/etc. selected". When I click on the same checkbox more than one time it counts upwards (even if clicking the same listing again and again which shouldn't even be possible). And when I click it just one time and try to add it to the report, I get an error message saying "Hm, looks like something went wrong. Try adding your listings again."
Is anyone else having this problem? I tried 3 different browsers - but it's the same for all. I had no problems reporting infringements in the past.
OP, FYI if you are wanting to report someone for taking any design that AI derived...
you can't copyright or claim any IP. The US Copyright office so ruled a few years ago.
anyone can take any design that is AI and use it. You have zero ownership.
A design that won an award was refused protection due to 'insufficient' human effort. I don't think that policy has changed...
OMG, YESS!! I've been getting SO frustrated, spending hours trying to report a bunch of my stolen designs from 2 newer shops I noticed the other day that popped up with my EXACT designs and photos (and people are actually buying from them since they undercut my prices
@DarlingDecorsAndMore If you photos were stolen you can report the items through the DMCA. If this is copyright then the other seller will have the right to counter claim.
Use a browser and not the app. Clean out cache and cookies.
However if you are using ready made graphics and fonts, you may want to consult the Copyright Office to see if your items are eligible to be registered. Graphic work is one of those gray areas that an expert needs to weigh in on. What Visual and Graphic Artists Should Know about Copyright | U.S. Copyright Office
Also having this issue, tried 3 browsers all the same
Same here.
I managed to submit a report at lunchtime yesterday (GMT) but getting that "property" error now.
Its not functioning for me either. It's like pulling teeth to report stolen IP. Esty - is there a fix?
It is happening to me too. Wanted to report a listing that used my design and it doesn´t let me add the listing to the report.
Part of the answer Etsy gave me today was this - but those things are not working for me, which I told them. I'm waiting for another reply and let you guys know as soon as I hear from them again. I send them a link to this thread, too, so they can see that this is affecting several sellers.
"Thank you for letting us know about the trouble with the Etsy Reporting Portal. I'll give you some steps of troubleshooting that should help you:
1. Sign out and back into your Etsy account.
2. Try uninstalling and reinstalling any browsers you've already tried. You can do this with the Etsy app too.
3. Test out a different device, such as a mobile device, if you've already tried checking out on a computer.
4. Make sure to download the latest version of the Etsy app for shopping or Etsy Seller app.
5. Here’s instructions for disabling add-ons for Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Edge, and Safari.
6. Learn how to clear your cache for Microsoft Edge, Chrome, Safari, and Firefox."
@SevenNature thanks so much for sharing this - I've tried on both my home laptop and studio PC over the last few days.
Will give these desktop options a whirl and see what happens.
I'm not messing about with the app, especially when trying to do something so important! LOL
Still not working as of now for me either... So frustrating!
Still not working here either...
makes me wonder if Etsy is changing the back-end reporting process/code ... and could it be for the better?
I thought it was just me... system is STILL not allowing me to upload the infringement...
I haven't got another reply from Etsy yet but I just logged into the Reporting Portal and submitting a report worked! Hopefully it stays that way and it's fixed for all of us now?
