Hi Lovely Community,
Does anyone use the square integration from Etsy?
I'm having a few problems:
1. SKU numbers do not pull through to Square - I understand this isn't available yet (not a biggie)
2. Stock Numbers (quantities) do not pull through and therefore allows customers to buy multiples of an item I only have one of.
3. Images seem to drop off square items when I sync again
4. Only one image pulls through
I have hundreds of listings so am wondering whether these are issues or we are supposed to manually update these fields?
I chose Square a few years ago for in person sales but I am wondering if there is another website integration that pulls through more data from Etsy that I should be considering as a replacement. I am in the UK.
Many Thanks

I’ve been searching around the internet and it seems like this is a years long issue. I am just now implementing SKUs into my business after 6 years on Etsy. What a disappointment it is to not be able to create a SKU in my Etsy listing and have the ability to transfer that new information into Square on a sync. I only have 75 SKUs but that is a lot of unnecessary data entry when all the info can be transferred over in the push of a sync button. Big sigh.
I had an awful experience with Square and Weebly and yes, the integration is horrible and you have to do more extra work afterwards to fix it. I switched to Indiemade and I don't use SKUs but it was a much better transition and all of my photos and variations synced. I would think if the variations were moved over, the SKUs would too. Indiemade gives you a free trial so it may be worth testing out to see if it works for you.
I haven't tried integrating them and just enter sales separately at in person markets when I want to use square payment. Which is frustrating because then I have to remember to mark that painting sold on my other etsy account.
Can you elaborate on how you do this? I've started doing more in-person selling and would love to sell through Etsy to continue to build my shop and especially to have my sales tax figured out by Etsy instead of me! Many of my customers are older and don't have or want an Etsy account and would rather pay another way. I've been trying to figure out if I could run their payment without them having to do the purchase themselves.
@ScissorsandQuillCo: "... and especially to have my sales tax figured out by Etsy instead of me!" The primary reason to use the Square integration instead of some other solution is to have your Etsy inventory updated. Off-Etsy sales require you to handle the sales tax calculation. https://www.sellercommunity.com/t5/Troubleshooting/Sales-tax-with-Etsy-listings-synced-with-square/m...
All my orders are custom created, so inventory is not an issue for me, especially off-site. I was hoping that the syncing with Square would be an actual purchase through Etsy. That person's question was exactly mine, so thank you for sharing that. My state has different sales tax by county so it gets complicated.
I see this is a year-old post, maybe I should start a new message thread? But it is my problem exactly, as a new Etsy and Square user - stock count on Square resets to zero on every sync from Etsy. Has anyone seen a solution to this? I have posted a support request to Etsy, I'll copy any resolution here. Thanks
ps from other posts, I believe the SKU issue is resolved as "sorry you just can't do that, the SKUs do not sync"
