I am not sure what is going on but etsy has deactivated all my listings. And of course I am not seeing the blue chat bubble. Anyone else???
@fabricfetish FYI, Fabio was promoted or moved to a different department.
@fabricfetish I also noticed you have no payment methods in your shop
@NanaLetha I did. they must have disappeared with all my listings....
Can you clarify how you fixed the issue? Did you update the Non-Legal Name Change - First Name, Last Name?
Ive made several changes and still Im not unsuspended. I dont know what information to change. None of my taxpayer or #s have changed.
Tech support called me back but the person who answers cant help with the taxpayer questions and say they will escalate and I will get an email. No response.
@CreativeBliss4U This is a 2 part issue. The 1st part is getting your shop verified so etsy knows it is actually you they are dealing with. When your shop was first frozen you should have received an email stating your shop has been frozen with directions on uploading your drivers license. Do what etsy is requesting. Once this happens it will take (for me 8 to 10 hours) for etsy to verify your shop. Now go to the "Accept as Solution" under the Originating Thread and follow what it says. DO NOT do this before your shop has been verified.
The issue seems to be with my EIN number. For some reason etsy does not recognize it as legal and or correct, but it is and has been for the last 19 years. I tried to re-enter it several time and now etsy is saying my account is frozen and to try again is 24 hours.
My acct is verified.
Same thing happened to me a couple of hours ago. 9 years on Etsy, Star Seller, I have changed NOTHING in my shop as far as tax / payment info (until I got the message about the suspension for Etsy). It had my shop name listed instead of my name for the tax info, so of course they "couldn't verify" my name / SSN. I changed the tax info to MY name and uploaded the requested documents, but all I get repeatedly is that "Etsy is unable to verify" the information. I am trying to get help from Etsy (yes, their catch phrase ironically is "Keep Commerce Human"), but all I get is "this email inbox is unmonitored" or I'm stuck in an endless loop in the AI help system with no options to reach a real person and resolve this. This has apparently happened to a number of people today. I hope they fix it soon -- loss of revenue, unable to get payments from recent sales, etc. Etsy doesn't seem to care about their sellers. Why would you have an ecommerce site with NO way for people to get in-person tech support???!!!
I had to verify a few weeks ago. I uploaded all the info and had the banner that that they couldn't verify and I had 60 days etc. I contacted Etsy and kept it to one ticket. It took 2 days before a human reviewed and verified my info, then messaged in the ticket that everything was resolved.
@TylerGraceCo Thanks for this. Is logging a ticket the same as talking to someone via etsy chat? Can you clarify how yo logged a ticket?
@fabricfetish No. A ticket may eventually get you help. The best chat can do is "pass you on" and what happens after that is questionable time frame wise. No way to track it.
@hopeandjoystudios Interesting I was given a ticket number from a chat 2 days ago. I wonder if this has changed?
I just discovered the same thing - my shop's open but all my listings are deactivated (I started another thread about it before I found this one). I have received NO email or contact from Etsy and like the OP, I've been on Etsy for 18 years with no issues.
So far I've sent a note to one of the admins, I'm sure not the right one but hopefully I'll get a contact of some sort. Very disheartening!
@weekendjewelry1
You also don't have any payment options showing.
@vintageNCtreasures I for sure had all my payment options showing prior to etsy freezing my account.
I conducted a bit of research and found some reasons why that might happen. You may be aware of all of these things, but I will share the information on the small chance you might have missed something.
• Ensure the EIN is entered in the correct format (e.g., two numbers followed by a hyphen and then four numbers).
• The name and EIN you provide must match the information on file with the IRS. Ensure you are not using your personal SSN or name, but rather the EIN and business name. It all must match whatever you show on your tax returns.
• You can only attempt to update your taxpayer information a limited number of times within a 24-hour period. So if you have tried a couple of times unsuccessfully, I would wait 24 hours before trying again.
• Even small things, a missing comma or abbreviation, can cause verification problems.
I think Etsy did something on their end today. I'm not the only one this happened to. I've been with Etsy for years and haven't tried to change anything until I got the email from them today saying my shop was suspended b/c tax info couldn't be verified. I'm a sole proprietor. It had my shop name listed, along with my SSN. Tried to change it to MY name to be associated with the SSN, but the documents "can't be verified." Also, it says the bank info has to match the tax info.... my bank is a dba and the way it's entered in the Etsy system is as my business' name, not my name dba the business' name. No way to change it. No way to get help.
Oh my God, this is terrible. Definitely contact ETSY customer service. I hope you get a quick solution.
There is absolutely NO WAY to contact "customer service". It doesn't exist. You just get shunted around in the AI bot system. If you try to email, you get a reply that says, the inbox for the email address you sent your message to (the same one that sent the message that my shop has been suspended) is UNMONITORED. So, how is a person supposed to contact "tech support" or "Customer support?"
@Goshirtly I did, and they said they would pass the information on to another team and i would get an email. But they could not tell me why or when any of this "next steps" would happen.
@fabricfetish I am so sorry this happened! You might want to pin your post on the cause now that you know it, so people who don't read the whole thread know what is going on.
@cindylouwho2 Thank you for your suggestion. I thought about that but it is really a guess as there has been no communication from etsy. And if it is not the issue then I will just confuse things more. Once I know for sure I will 100% flag the cause/and or solution.
Could it be those listings were ones that hadn't renewed when expired and now they are removed. Did you check to see if they had expired. There was an email sent out about this happing to quite a few shops.
I didn't use the chat bubble on the side of the page. I'm not positive if they both lead to a ticket. I clicked the help button on the left side menu then clicked "Contact us", then select "selling on Etsy" then I can't remember if I chose "managing my shop and listings" or "my account is suspended" (because my account wasn't suspended.) Either way, it takes you through different info and at the end I clicked that I still needed help. It gave me a place to type my problem. I then had to wait for Etsy to answer. I have read before that every time you open a new ticket, the time you wait for help starts over (or something like that) so don't open another.
I received an email today that due to a glitch in their system, they have failed to collect the $.20 fee on many of my listings. So, they are going to deactivate 277 of my listings anytime soon at their disposal. IT WAS THEIR FAULT, so you'd think they would let it go and charge the next time they need to be relisted, but Etsy has no appreciation for their sellers or the in other words, the ones that pay their bill
