Error when trying to set up Etsy payments

I connected my bank account but after I enter all my info on the set up payments page I click save and continue and I get “Hmm, looks like that didn’t work. Try again”. I’ve tried with an iPad, my son’s lap top, different browsers and still get that error. Has anyone else found a solution to this? 

I’ve sent a request to Etsy’s technical support 5 days ago and and another 3 days ago asking for help and no response. Today they sent me an auto message asking how they did in answering my problem. Huh? I never got any answer!

@Karvay What country are you in?

Your shop policies show a last updated date in 2011 - if you've had no activity in your shop for many years then it's possible that some old settings could be causing a hiccup with activating the payment options. 

With your technical support request, it's best to only open one ticket. Did you receive an automated response from Etsy to either of your tickets? You might need to reply to one of those and tell them that you still have the issue so that a human will look at it.

Yes, it’s an old shop that I’m wanting to reopen. I’m in the U.S.A. I replied to the ticket as you suggested. The payment set up issue is the only think preventing me from reopening the shop. I’ve wondered if I should just try starting from scratch with a whole new account but then I’ll lose my existing business name for the shop so that isn’t an ideal option plus I may run into the exact same error message. Hopefully, Etsy will have someone on their tech support team reach out to me soon.

Anni fa avevo un negozio e poi l'ho chiuso.

Domenica l'ho riaperto, ho avuto la conferma della riapertura e il messaggio che per vendere avrei dovuto solo più iscrivermi a Etsy Payments.

Compilo con i dati anagrafici e l'Iban e alla conferma mi esce il banner rosso che qualcosa è andato storto. Sono sicura di aver inserito i dati correttamente (ho sentito la banca per ulteriore conferma anche del codice swift) e poi ho anche provato a mettere i dati di un secondo Iban sempre intestato a me ma niente.

Ho aperto una segnalazione all'assistenza domenica ma non ho ancora avuto risposta.

Sembra quasi un bug di sistema, sono disperata.

Per favore se risolvi contattami o scrivimi qui e io faccio altrettanto.

Support responded yesterday and recommended I clear cashe on the browser. Tried that and it didn’t work. I also tried to use a different browser and a different computer but nothing is working and I’m still getting the error. So I replied yesterday to the support tech and waiting for a response, hopefully today. I’m running out of ideas. 🤷‍

@Karvay If you haven't already done so, if they respond again and it doesn't help, please point out to them that the shop was opened a long time ago. 

They might need to escalate it to their technical team.

There was an issue at one point in recent years where some of the oldest shops had some old data associated with them that caused various issues and they required manual adjustments from Etsy to make them work again. I don't specifically remember what they were but vague memory suggests it was to do with zip codes or state codes in the US.

A me oggi hanno proposto questa soluzione e domani penso di provare perché non vedo alternative:

- creo una nuova email e la associo al mio negozio/profilo vecchio

- chiudo il negozio vecchio ma senza eliminarlo in modo definitivo 

- con la mia "vera" email registro un nuovo account e apro un nuovo negozio

- se tutto è ok eventualmente chiudo il vecchio profilo/negozio più avanti 

Sembra ormai chiaro che l'errore che ci dà è informatico: il negozio è stato chiuso per tanti anni e probabilmente non abbiamo dato i consensi e non abbiamo fatto gli aggiornamenti che dovevamo. 

Quando provo ti faccio sapere.

Ho risolto, ti scrivo passo passo come ho fatto:

- ho creato una nuova email

- ho inserito la nuova email nel negozio vecchio Impostazioni account, account

- ho chiuso il vecchio negozio Gestione negozio, Impostazioni, Opzioni, Chiudi negozio

- ho chiuso il vecchio account Impostazioni account, chiudi il tuo account

- ho fatto una nuova registrazione usando la mia email solita e mettendo un nuovo nome

- dal nuovo account ho aperto il nuovo negozio e ho inserito tutti i miei dati bancari, documenti ecc. senza problemi

I'm having the same problem! Etsy is not responding! They keep saying they sent it to the engineers but I still cannot get an answer and it's been over a week. I'm losing sales!

I'm also having the same issue and trying to reopen an old store.  I noticed that others who have older accounts that are trying to reopen after being closed for a long time are running into the same problem.

Was told by support that they sent the issue to engineers and its been about 2 weeks. Hopefully it get resolved soon

I keep getting that answer too, that it was sent to engineers. If so many people are having this issue why is it taking so long? It's so infuriating. I'm losing sales!

I had to go and open a whole new store which was super tedious, but it finally works. I got tired of waiting for these engineers who are clearly not working on this issue.

I had the same issue, but it got resolved. Shop had no sales for about a week. Be in constant with ETSY. They are not good with following up, but keep sending daily reminders. As I understand and infer from my experience, for as long as you are getting this message, ETSY or their payment partner is verifying the paperwork and legalities of your business. Be in touch with the payment partner as well. Hope that helps!!

Having the same issue, it also now says Etsy Payments is not available in my area! I live in the US! I can’t get anyone to help me! Have had it “escalated” several times!

The issue was resolved for me. Like another said before, staying in contact helped. Since my ticket was still open, I waited some time after I was told the issue was sent to the engineers. I asked if there were any updates or solutions. I referenced this thread and another that are experiencing similar issues. I also tried to be very detailed. The troubleshooting process started over again, but eventually I was able to enroll in Etsy payments.

They may request a screen capture/recording of the error.

I have done all of this going on a month, screen shots, messages, calls! They sent me an email asking if it was resolved and when I responded no it has not, I have never heard from them again. Very frustrating!
