Buyer informed me that they couldn't leave a 5 star review for my shop. They loved the order, which was also stated in the review. However, they said they couldn't select 5 stars. Now I have 1 star review instead of 5 stars, which is affecting my shop health and will be affecting my Star Seller status.
I wasn't able to contact Etsy support, because I have already an open ticket for another Etsy system error and the support chat message says that agent will join me in 10-14 days.
The buyer can probably change it themselves.
Send a message saying there is a glitch and ask if they would be so kind to update the stars. They go to their orders and click Edit in the review box and they should be able to amend it. Sadly, I am pretty sure Etsy would not change the stars themselves even if you request it as there are legal aspects to reviews that mean most cannot be changed and only under certain circumstances. Your only hope is the buyer changing it.
Thank you! Hopefully they buyer will change, it. However, of course, the changed review will just look prettier, while the initially selected one star will count in the Star Seller statistics, unfortunately.
@Back2Linen It used to be that you couldn’t leave a 5 star review on some phone apps but you could leave a 4 star review. I’ve seen many reviews on Amazon that are 1 star and it’s obvious that some people think 1 star is the best - no idea why.
Your buyer can easily edit the review using a desktop, laptop or tablet. The instruction ‘edit review’ is pretty obvious.
Thank you!
What might seem obvious to someone, might seem not obvious to somebody else.
@Back2Linen If you’ve ever bought anything on Etsy (I’ve bought plenty!), you can see the ‘instruction’ is very clear and underlined. I don’t use the app - maybe it’s less clear there?
