Error code when trying to update or list new items.

This was suggested by Etsy chat as well. Switching browsers did not work. My other Etsy account does not have this issue on either browsers. Only this Etsy account.

Etsy code, particularly the new listing form, works better with some browser than with others.

Recently I was trying to teach myself javascript (so that I could automate updating Details in the new listing form) and I was surprised at how many variations there are in different browsers. It would take a lot of care and testing to make sure everything worked consistently with every browser.

Did you try clearing your browser's cache/cookies? If you use a VPN, try turning it off too. I have had Etsy errors using 1 computer while another was fine too. It's odd if the error is just on one Etsy account & not another!

I have the same problem.  Did you resolve yours?  Can't get a listing to edit on either Safari or Chrome.

I had this happen when I went to renew a listing. I decided to update some things before re-listing it and it gave me an error code. Not sure if it was the same, but it was a similar message.

What worked for me was just renewing with a quantity of one, and then opening up the renewed listing and making the updates.

I've been Renewing > Edit items, and so far (knock on wood) no problems. This is on Sold Out or Inactive Items. I'll Renew them before making any changes.  Then I will find them in "Active", and proceed to Edit. That's usually to put in another of the same exact item (different photo, I don't use stock photos). And I might make light tweaks in Titles, Tags, Descriptions. 

The only time I will Edit an Active listing is to make a very quick change to a listing which is live. (desktop computer, Chrome, Windows 10).

It’s not the renewals, it happens when I create a duplicate listing for a similar product, or I just try to edit an existing listing. Again, both on chrome and safari

I'm getting this code today on one item.  A customer is wanting to purchase and it won't calculate shipping for them.  I've had several sales this weekend and thought it was just this listing and it is.  I've tested a few listings by editing them and they update with no issue!  I hope etsy answers before I lose a $110 sale.  So I guess i'm having two issues...not calculating any shipping amount and not letting me update this listing.

I had the same issue on one listing recently and a couple in the past that just somehow stopped working properly. It would give me the red error with any edit I tried to make. I couldn't update photos, remove a random extra period in the description,  add a vid, add alt text etc. I tried on multiple browsers on multiple devices. I tried deactivating and reactivating. Nothing worked.  Support had no idea either.  The listing was just broken somehow. I ended up duplicating it and just making a new one which worked. Not an ideal solution especially if its an established well selling listing but this one wasn't.

Also having this same issue. I have done all of the things Etsy suggested including trying 3 different browsers - Chrome - Safari - Firefox and still encounter the red error code. After 3 different emails trying to troubleshoot, Etsy says,  "It sounds like you’re experiencing an issue that our engineering team is looking into. I’ve added all of the details from this ticket to their investigation so they have more information to work with." Please make sure you let Etsy know if, you too, are experiencing this problem.

Same today. it happened last week as well. Using Mac Book Air, chrome. Can't renew or save the item I had been working on, and getting the red banner with error code. it happens only on some listings, not others.

I've been having this same issue in this shop (but not my other ones either) since before Etsy sunsetted the old listing form (I was then assured they knew of the issue and it would be fixed before that, but it wasn't). I've had a support case going for months. I tried everything, and I mean everything. Any kind of edit will not save and gives me the same kind of error it sounds like you're getting. I provided screenshots and screen capture video to Etsy support. It is on Etsy's end. The last message I got said they have no estimate on when it will be fixed. It affects 97 of my listings, sadly seasonal ones I wanted to update in recent weeks, but I can't.

The only alternative I see is to copy the listings (which does work at least for me), but then I'm incurring a bunch of unnecessary listing fees and, worse IMO, I'd be losing the views/favorites/sales history on them so I haven't done it on very many yet. But that may be the only way to ever get to update those listings. Very disappointing and frustrating.

All I can say is, if you're having this issue, please get a support case going. Etsy needs to see how many sellers are having this issue. And if you can figure out how many listings it affects, let them know. That might not be feasible for every seller, but I figured mine out when I tried to update the Core Details when Etsy recently added the choices for "created by" etc. I wrote down every listing I couldn't successfully update (hoping to update them later) and added them up.

Has anyone here ever found a solution to the problem or if Etsy had something to say about it? I just opened a new thread yesterday about this happening to me and someone said it happened before and posted this for me to look at. Any help would be appreciated. It's been a couple of weeks now that I haven't been able to make any new listings. I get an error code that says it cannot be saved and to contact Etsy. I can update listings that are already up though. I have contacted Etsy four different times and they ignore me. But I always get the survey a couple of days after my e-mail to them asking how they did! I guess those surveys automatically go out after you contact them. It is annoying.
