I'm getting emails from a [REMOVED] saying she is with Etsy Technical debt telling me I've made a sale and Etsy's having technical issues with the system and the buyer has already payed for the product and to go to another email and to follow the directions so they can put the payment on my card but when i check my order status it say no sales can someone confirm this or look into it please thank you
That is a SCAM. Spam it.
Watch out as it is a scam. There is a lot of them going on right now on Etsy and every where else. Has been multiple posts of ones just like your lately along with others.
You have no sales, when you get a sale it will appear in your dashboard.
If it is not in your dashboard is is not real. Etsy will never ask you to verify a sale or anything if they do it again will appear in your dashboard as a notification or banner.
I just had a horrible thought. What if they figure out how to get it on our dashboards?
They can once they they hack the person they have contacted
It is scary what they can do now, I have not had a scam message on my phone for ages, then this evening I received one from the CJIB (they hand out traffic fines)
I was just telling my husband on the Phone on Wednesday how I thought I may have been caught by the cameras whilst driving, I checked in with the CJIB every day and there was nothing (huge relief)
Then about an hour ago I received this message on my phone from the CJIB with their logo and everything saying I had an outstanding fine, which after what happened the other day I could not disbelieve it but me being me never click on anything on my phone or email logged into the CJIB just to find it clear.
When I looked more closely at the message it was not from them at all as the country code was +27
@CryzalisDesigns they can't infiltrate our dashboards unless they hack the Etsy back end (yes, that's what it's called). They can however send fake emails with the real sender address masked to look like it came from Etsy.
Your fake 'speeding ticket' was probably a coincidence, but that's what they rely on to trick you.
Payment NEVER goes to your card. This is a scammer trying to get your card information!
Do not engage at all. Send the message to spam.
Spam the scam. It is a scam.
First Etsy would never ask for your email. The sale appears on the dashboard. If not there, it is not an actual sale.
Most definitely a scam but gosh aren't they getting even more clever and inventive. Seeing some of these emails in support groups you can understand how easily people can be tricked. Some look very genuine
Trust no one! You can always check on Google or these forums.
