Cannot upload digital file to order

I sell digital files that are customized and then I upload them to the order when complete. I just recently had a sale, but Etsy didn't make it a new order it made it completed right away, now I can't upload the file for the customer. I have had to email the file to the customer like I used to in the past before this new feature to upload to the order.

Has anyone had this happen and how do you fix it?

It sounds like it was set up as an instant download.  It appears your recently sold items are made to order digital.  I think there have been reports of a similar glitch recently.

I had the same issue. I couldn't figure out how to attach digital files to my listing because I had it set to 'made to order'. I found the answer in this video. I timestamped the share to where she explains that if you choose 'recently' you made it instead of 'made to order'.. then you will get the option to upload files. https://youtu.be/ocD7Awklq2k?si=lhdKSWRY7Jq1bdWH&t=401
