Hello, not sure if this has already been posted. But whenever I try to edit a listing, it always automatically scrolls down to the bottom of the page or the middle of the page. I have checked on 2 different browsers and it always does this. It's very annoying to edit the listings because I don't want to start down at the bottom or the middle, I want to start at the top. It's been going on for about 2 months... I hoped that the issue would just clear up eventually but it's still doing this. I am using the old listing form... Not sure if it happens on the new listing form. I'm praying that I will never have to be forced to use the new form.
I hate this.
I've been re-doing photos and it is a BIG PITA.
Looks like it might be a by-product of Etsy working on the new listing page?
They can't seem to work on anything without screwing up something else.
And they never come back to tidy up.
Yeah I've been waiting for them to fix it... seems like an obvious issue.
I have this same problem, but it doesn't always happen. I just scroll back up. I don't know why this happens, but it's mildly annoying.
@TheGoodNewsTradingCo Although Etsy never announced why, I believe it is because of the importance of ensuring we select the return & exchange policy. Many Etsy sellers are not getting an opportunity to work with customers having problems because if you don't have a return/exchange policy selected, Etsy rules in favor of the customer immediately.
I noticed that it did not scroll to the bottom when I used the "new" form for a listing. I believe we will be forced to use the new form in the future at some point.
Etsy doesn't allow the listing to be completed if a return policy isn't selected
I find this very irritating as well. I copy listings to use as templates for new listings. That means I'm redoing all the critical info, beginning with new photos. It is a pain to be taken to the bottom of the page when I need to start at the top.
Exactly... it is super annoying when you're doing a bunch of listings in rapid fire like that. Just another bump in the work flow.
Supposedly a number of admin have their own shops so they know how things operate. With all the hair-brained ideas they implement, however, I have a hard time believing any of them are really operating shops or they would know better on many of their "improvements."
I'm quite sure this is intentional so sellers see the return setup first.
Maybe, if this is so important to them, they should move this section to the top of the page.
Just saying.
I was thinking the same, Sylvia. If that is so all-fired important to them then it should be the first thing we see at the top of the page.
Alas, it would require a logical mind to implement that.
Etsy's motto:
Why do it the easy way, when you can do it the hard way!
Been happening to me for ages now-I'd say 95% of the time I'm landing at the bottom. Just annoying but not a deal breaker for me.
I understand it's not a "deal breaker" I am just trying to bring it to Etsy's attention because it would literally require adjusting one line of code to fix this.
It might not be a deal breaker, but it is d*** irritating. Why is it when Etsy makes changes it so often causes more time, clicks, work, and glitches instead of streamlining the process?
Just scroll to the top of the page. It only takes a few seconds. To me it is not even an annoyance, it's just one more etsy glitch.
Same here and annoying.
yup at the bottom to the return policies with the announcement if you ship to the EU and the UK you need this. I don't ship to any of those. just adds to the pain point.
