Does anyone know why there is no proper block feature?

How in 2023 is there no proper block feature on Etsy...a complete block where the other user can not see you, message you or see your store anymore? 

Anyone know WHY Etsy won't provide a full featured block function?

I don't know, they never have.  If you Block someone, it will only block them from seeing your Favs.

Etsy allows guests to purchase without an account.  How would a block feature work with someone determined enough to create a new account?  Same as any other place on the internet.

Good point...I forgot about that "guest" feature and if they're really mentally unstable they can just create another account to pester you.

You do have the right to cancel their orders and ask them not to contact you again.  At that point if they do contact you again Etsy will get involved.

Ah, I wasn't aware Etsy can get involved with problem customers. Hopefully doesn't get to that point but good to know. Thanks.

Because it would be a complete waste of time on etsy you can view messages and buy as a guest you don't need to log into or even have an etsy account. Any one you blocked would just need to log out of there account.

There is so much competition in online selling these days, blocking customers is like shooting yourself in the foot.  I have been selling online since 1998 and the only time I ever blocked someone was for stalking, and that involved the police.

It is far more effective to communicate with them ONCE, politely explain that you are unable to meet their needs, wish them well with finding another shop that can, and then cancel and refund.  If they buy again, cancel and refund immediately.  When you cease engagement they will tire of the whole thing much more quickly, and if they don't you can report them to Etsy for harassment with solid evidence to back your claim.

Even if you could block them, they could always find a way in, multiple accounts, guest purchases etc.
