I'm new on Etsy and I'm having trouble with setting up a crochet pattern to sell. I'm wondering if you can have photos on the files that are sent to download. Also, how does the download work, do I have to do something or does it happen automatically?
I'd really appreciate any help you can give.
Thanks!
I think it is part of Windows 10. If you don't have it, it is like adding a printer to your computer. Do all your formatting, cropping, editing and resizing BEFORE you print the PDF.
Yes, you can have photos on the download. What program are you using to create your downloads? That is where you add the photos.
And if you set your listings up correctly, the buyer can instantly download it upon payment.
Did you read up on this subject in the Help Center?

Okay thanks! I didn't read the article, and it helps a lot!
So if you want an instant download do you select the date you made it?
Do you also have to enter a quantity for your digital downloads?
I sell crochet patterns and include a photo of the finished item. I create mine in Word and export as a PDF that I upload to the listing.
Ok thanks so much!
If you have all your pictures and text in one file folder, you can highlight them all, right click, select "Print" then select "Print as a a Microsoft PDF" name it, and hit "Print". It will make a PDF (has to end up less than 20mb), and you can upload it as your digital file to your listing.
Wow! Thanks that sounds really easy! Do you have to have Microsoft Office to do that?

@SweetPrairieCreation If you want more control over the finished product you could try OpenOffice or LibreOffice (both free and open source alternatives to Microsoft Office)
Thanks! I've tried OpenOffice, but it does weird things to my format and also I can't figure out how to make it a high resolution file.
To change the resolution, you have to go to the "Size" edit. Increase the size to 200, 300 or 600, dpi depending on how big the print will be.
