Can't see my descriptions on my desktop, just my phone anyone else?
Right at the bottom left, under reviews!
Oh, I found them, they are in a different place now. Thanks kind people.
Item details under the pictures. Where the description belongs.
Etsy is trying to make the browser look like a mobile. I prefer a browser because it does not look like a mobile and is easier on my vision. This new way is a total bummer for me.
I agree! I'm on a PC and it took FOREVER for me to find item descriptions, which were moved to underneath the photos instead of being under the variations dropdown! It was just fine before. I appreciated that I didn't have to click an expand window. As if people don't read the details anyway, this change is very convoluted.
It is just bad (or perhaps lazy) CSS and programming to not design and size content to the viewport.
It must be a test. I can see them on a desktop. Sometimes they just make them pretty hard to find with a tiny Learn More link that is hard to spot. They are always moving them around. No wonder hardly anyone seems to read them.
There is another thread with the same issue
TEST? Description & Shipping Info UNDER Photos!!! - Welcome to the Etsy Community
Me too, no descriptions only title and the a pop-up to purchase. I assume a test but boy with all the work we put into writing them it's painful.
It's still there! They just moved it to underneath the photos.
If this is a test I don't like it. I wouldn't have know where the descriptions were if I hadn't come here. AND, right at Christmas shopping time! I go to a lot of effort to give acuate and detailed descriptions. Now they hard to find.
@SweetSisterSparrow your listings do have descriptions! You need to click on the "Item Details" tab drop down arrow right under your listing picture ... same for the "Shipping and return policies", click on the drop down arrow. It may be hard to find because this is a new way of viewing listings, but your descriptions are there!
WHY!!!!!! I don't have enough time as it is answering questions without the uptick in dumb questions I'm getting because buyers can't find the descriptions any more. Doesn't Etsy even check these forums to see what sellers think? There's a giant white blank area on the right with everything else crammed and needing to click something to get to the information that should be front and center. Please put it back to where the description is under the title where it makes sense to look for it.
What a stupid time to play with the descriptions again!!! THIS IS THE SECOND TIME they are doing this to us. At least if you are going to HIDE the descriptions AGAIN could you please make the "Item Details" say something closer to DESCRIPTION DETAILS and make it larger so it might actually be visible to someone who might want to see the actual Descriptions. Last time you did this to us Etsy I lost all kinds of traffic because obviously they couldn't figure out what I was trying to sell them unless the wrote and asked a question. A question I don't have time to answer and list items too! This is just so stupid!!! How can I make you or me any money??? I sell very well normally. This is really hard to accept when I need this income!!!
I agree!! it should be Description details!
I'm so glad you brought this up Catherine!! I was alarmed when my last two listings I just put up..had no descriptions to them. What a relief that they are in another place.
For goodness sakes ETSY... Please STOP moving the Item Description! Especially at a peak holiday selling time! Who thinks of doing this without getting a shops permission to be included in these test.. This same test was done a few months ago why keep doing this?
It is hard to find/notice under the photos. I need my buyers to read the description, so they know exactly what they are purchasing. I actually left a shop that I was looking to purchase from because I could not find the description readily available!
Even worse, the "contact seller" button is now right at the very bottom, under all the other guff, and hidden behind a drop down menu. So, if a buyer has a question about the item, they're just going to move right on by as they won't see a way to contact the seller. It's laughable that someone at Etsy actually thought this was a good idea.
