Deposit Delayed Past 90-Day Reserve Period – Still Showing August 28

Hi everyone,

I’m hoping someone might be able to offer insight or share similar experiences.

My first sale on Etsy was on March 8, 2025, and I was under the impression that after the standard 90-day reserve period, disbursements would begin. However, my account still shows the next deposit scheduled for August 28, 2025, which is nearly 6 months after my first sale.

After multiple contacts with Etsy Support, I was told:

  • There was a system error that placed an unintended hold on my payments.

  • That hold has now been removed, but then a subsequent email stating that if I continue to ask that my account will be suspended.

  • Despite this, the August 28 deposit date remains unchanged, and I was not given any steps on how to expedite or update it.

I’ve also tried asking about changing my disbursement schedule to daily (which is selected in my settings), but haven’t gotten a clear path forward.

Has anyone else experienced this kind of delay after the reserve period? Were you able to resolve it and receive your funds earlier than the displayed date?

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. They are holding over $1800.00. I put the shop in vacation mode today because I feel like I'm working for free.

Are you on payment reserve also?  Sounds like you might be.

You make your 1st sale and all of the fees, postage, ads, etc. come from the money received.  You make your 2nd sale and all of the fees come out the funds from the 1st sale until they are used, third sale fees come out of 2nd sale until the money is all gone and then moves onto coming out of the 3rd sale, etc.  When the funds would become available 14 to 20 days later there is no money.  The 2nd sale funds become available, but again there is no money to deposit.  You need a super, big sale or a break in sales so that your deposits can get ahead of your fees.

Since your shop is on vacation and your sales are private it is hard to give specifics.  A lot will depend on your prices, the number of items you have listed, the number of sales per day, etc., but in general when you first open if you have a large number of sales in a short amount of time it is almost impossible to get a deposit until about 14 to 20 days after the 90 days.  AND the 90 days can be extended.

You’re absolutely right — my account does have a Payment Reserve, but what’s interesting is that it’s never actually held any funds. I always ship promptly with valid tracking, so nothing has gone into reserve at any point. Here’s what my dashboard shows right now:

  • Temporary hold on funds (but with no explanation or breakdown)

  • Orders in reserve: 0

  • Reserve minimum: $0.00

  • Available for deposit: $1,763.52

  • Current balance: $1,888.97

  • Deposit schedule: Daily

  • Amount due: $0.00 — all fees are covered

An Etsy rep told me there was a system error that caused a hold on my funds, and that it’s been removed. They also said my deposit is scheduled for August 28, but that date doesn't appear anywhere in my actual dashboard — it just continues to say "Temporary hold on funds.”

So while the reserve is technically active, it’s never actually kicked in — and everything else (fees, shipping, balance, etc.) looks totally normal. I'm just trying to understand why the funds still aren't being released, even though nothing appears to be on hold anymore.

Normally when the funds are in "Available for deposit" you can set those funds to be released yourself to daily, weekly or monthly. There should also be a request now button next to the scheduled date.

Have you tried changing the deposit schedule to see if that makes any changes?

Another thing to try, if Etsy said the "temporary hold" has been lifted.

Log out using a browser, clear your cookies and cache and log back in
