I’m not sure why I’m posting here. Maybe for hope, insight, advice… I’m not sure. I was recently married and recently got my social security card and drivers license updated with my new legal last name. I figured I should change my name with Etsy as well so come tax time I don’t run into any issues. I had no idea it was this much of a hassle. I got an email stating I couldn’t access funds until it was done and I would receive an update within 48 hours so I thought oh no big deal! That was a week ago… I submitted all required documentation - my drivers license, social security card, and marriage certificate. I even set up an entirely new bank account with my new last name and connected and verified it through my Etsy shop, I’ve done everything asked of me. I’ve spoken with support countless times and am repeatedly told that it’s under review and they don’t know when it will be done. There’s no updates. They even told me that there’s a note saying everything is a match… yet it still isn’t verified? I’m trying so hard to be patient, but my shop is my only source of income. I can’t pay my bills and I can’t buy groceries. This was so unexpected. I completely understand why this process is in place, but why does it have to take so long? On top of that, I keep seeing that it could take months… what am I supposed to do? I have hundreds sitting in my account that I can’t access… tears have been shed, I’m at a loss, and I would do just about anything to speed this up and resolve this ASAP. I’ve been with Etsy for over a year, I’m completed over 7,000 sales, I’ve been a star seller for a year, no violations, no cases, nothing. I just want communication, an update, SOMETHING, Please someone tell me there is hope that it will be successfully verified and that it won’t take weeks-months.
