Hello. I haven’t sold anything yet. Today a buyer told me that they are unable to purchase any of my listings. They get an error when they try to purchase. It's saying "This shop does not accept card payments" I had a friend in a different city try to purchase something and she got the error too. She tried on all my listings. I only have 5 at the moment. My shop says it accepts all the forms of payment. Is someone able to look at my shop and let me know? I only have digital products. Thank you.
Everything looks fine in your shop. You do have Etsy payments.
Thank you for your reply and checking on my shop. I'm not actually sure. I think I may have to look into that. I had just followed the instructions when I set up the shop so didn't know I needed more. I'll have a google and see.
I just had a look and Yes I do have Etsy Payments.
Your shop is new and unfinished, so it's a target for all kinds of scam.
Be very cautious about messages and Etsy-related emails. Don't click any links. Don't scan QR codes. Don't give your information for "verification". If you see a message is good, reply to it within 24 hours. If it's a scam, be sure to mark as spam.
I would suggest to read Seller Handbook and Shop critiques forum section. You'll find very helpful and detailed information on how to complete your shop.
I don't know why your friend had the problem as there is nothing wrong at the payment end of your shop. But the first message was almost certainly from a scammer. If you provided that person with your email address or any financial information, or clicked on any links within the message, come back to this thread to let us know and someone will tell you how to proceed.
Loving your shop name, by the way!
We know the buyer. And thank you for your kind words about our work
Same with ours. Customer is trying to purchase over $1000.00 worth of tiles for an installation and can’t. They got ahold of us through our personal email. This is crazy!
That sounds like a scam! Especially with the amount they were trying to buy
Read up on the links shared above and make sure you are careful. Remember orders over 250dollars/pounds etc are not protected and lots of people have lost their money as scammers have used this.
@BlaqKat they're not a new shop, it's not necessarily a scam, but I wouldn't sell $1000 worth of items on Etsy in one order.
@MedicineBluffStudio your work is beautiful! I would plaster my entire house with your tile if I could afford it.
I hope Etsy fixes this glitch. There're other posts about it (not scam purchases, sellers know the buyer).
We have been selling large orders on Etsy for years. This is a repeat customer who alerted us through our private email. . Thank you for your kind words though. Hope you are doing well.
Do you think it could be a problem on the buyer's end?
No way of knowing.
