Customer unable to make a payment

Hi everyone,

I recently opened my Etsy shop from India and completed all verification steps — including Payoneer, ID proof, and everything shows as “active” on my end.

However, when a customer tried to place an order, they got the error:  

**“Etsy Payments are temporarily unavailable”**

I contacted Etsy support and they said everything looks fine with my shop, and that the payments system will be active soon. But it's been a few days and I’m still unable to make a sale because customers can’t check out.

I’ve seen that other Indian sellers had this same issue in June and it resolved automatically within 2–3 weeks. Just wanted to check:

- Has anyone else recently (July 2025) faced this?

- How long did it take to get resolved?

- Do I need to take any action or just wait?

Any updates or advice would help!

you have no payment methods, they should be towards the bottom of your main shop page

Whoever you talked to at etsy was wrong

try logging another call, and say the payment methods are not on your main shop page

they should be above - returns and exchanges

Your payment method is grayed out so there is an issue.

Contact Etsy back.  Frankly for this I would prefer email as Chat can be wrong.  If you use chat hopefully you get someone who knows.

If you use email, the first email will be generic. Reply back that you still need help.

Is your Payoneer account correct?  Everything matches?  Did you do the deposit?
