Crazy amount of visits from redirect.viglink.com

I’ve been getting a crazy amount of visits to my shop from redirect.viglink.com . It’s definitely messing with my conversion rate and I believe that will hurt my visibility in search. Any feedback would help. What can I do?

Re: Crazy amount of visits from redirect.viglink.com

@CathyKiffneyStudio: vigilink.com is an advertising platform so something of yours must be up on their network. Perhaps some blogger us trying to earn their pennies with links to your items.

More worrying is that https://malwaretips.com/blogs/remove-redirect-vigilink-com/ says that "Redirect.vigilink.com is a malicious site that redirects a browser to an advertisement, the ads are typically for unwanted browser extensions, surveys, adult sites, online web games, fake software updates, and unwanted programs."

Oh boy! It sounds like I can’t do anything about it. Because it is happening on Etsy I guess there is nothing I can do? Anyway, thanks for the info!

@CathyKiffneyStudio: You are right that you can probably do nothing about it. The best we can hope for is that it will be added to the list of bot visits that are periodically removed from stats.

I don’t see what these bots are after. What’s the end game? Just bombarding a listing with fake views, i don’t get it!

Re: Crazy amount of visits from redirect.viglink.com

Ad click fraud or malvertising (malware embedded in fraudulent ads)

Nothing you can do, but it does hurt store's performance because those clicks / no sales equate to lower conversion rates

They are supposed to be getting caught and stats adjusted, 2023 I have seen quite the opposite happening...
