Jump to solution

Hello can anyone assist me with how to contact Etsy. I'm having a difficult time trying to get a hold of someone that can assist me. My shop is suspended and it's a simple verification with messaging Etsy Team back but my issues are the messages won't go through and I keep getting the error message "The username you have entered is not a valid Etsy user." Does anyone know how to get arond this issue. Any assistance will help, Thx.

This is a SCAM!!!!

They're probably 1000's of posts on this same exact or similar scam that has been ongoing since June/July and a lot sellers are being scammed out of money.

Your shop is NOT suspended. You should be able to see that it's still open.
If it was suspended Etsy would put a yellow banner on your home page and you would not have any items listed.

There's nothing to contact Etsy about.

Etsy would NEVER ask you for your email to verify anything.

Etsy has YOUR email. They don't need it again.
If Etsy EVER needs you to verify bank/cc info, you will have a notice ON your dashboard and/or finance page.
If nothing is there, then nothing needs verifying.

You're getting that error message because ETSY caught that scammer before you could give them any info.
Etsy saved you from those scammers STEALING your money.
They would have wanted your bank/cc info and when they got it they would have drained your accounts.

Did you not see a pop up on the message page that if a message was from Etsy it would be in the "FROM ETSY" section on the message page?
If it's NOT there it's NOT from Etsy. It doesn't matter what that message says.

You also should have had a light orange BOX warning right on the message section about these scams.
BUT if you clicked "OK I got it" without reading the info, then you won't see it again.

There's nothing that states on the help pages that you have to send Etsy or a buyer your email to get verified or your bank/CC info etc to get paid.

If you ever need to contact Etsy, YOU have to contact them through your shop manager > HELP > contact us.

Yes, this is a scam. The scammers are targeting new sellers - sorry this happened to you. Etsy likely deleted the scam account before you could reply, so be very thankful for that. As mentioned above, on your messages page, under where it says Inbox, there is a section link that says From Etsy. Any actual message from Etsy will show up there. If it is not in that section, it is NOT from Etsy. That is your best clue to avoid scam messages.

Mark any such scam messages as spam (if possible) so they do not count against your shop.

I see your shop as being open so it isn't suspended.
