Confirming Seller Info Gov ID glitch

wondering if anyone else is experiencing this, i spoke with chat and they said it's a technical error that they will notify the engineering team of.. However I have had a technical issue on my dashboard for a year now that's never been solved so i'm a little worried my shop will be forced into holiday mode.

Basically, when updating the seller info it says I need to upload Gov ID, however when i click on the link to go do so it says my ID is already uploaded and verified..

Curious if anyone else experienced this or not?

Please know that due to changing legal requirements and regulations around the world, such as the INFORM Consumers Act in the US and the Digital Services Act in the EU, as well as local tax regulations, mean some Etsy sellers may need to review and provide additional business and/or personal identifying information. This means that you may be required to confirm your information again within your Shop Manager(not on your Etsy Messages). The information that the sellers need to confirm will vary, but your Shop Manager will explain everything that you need to do.

 

But for us to check the specific issue that you're encountering, we recommend contacting us directly and provide us with screenshot/s of what you're seeing. This way, we can better assist you. You may contact us by sending a request through this link: https://help.etsy.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

update:  i closed out of everything and started over and it fixed itself it seems, if anyone runs into this issue!

@terriblay  I'm glad this problem is now fixed for you.

Here is another Thread somewhat similar to your re: technical issues which Etsy said they are aware of.  But the OP resolved it by uploading one document (instead of the multiple documents they asked for).

Yes, I'm having an issue Confirming Seller Information.   The Start Reviewing button is not operating and now my shop is on pause until confirm my information . I've spoke with a few Reps. and they still wasn't able to resolve the problem. Hopefully they will come up with a solution soon.

@Artbykerreamjones   From what device are you trying to place this information.  PC is best.

Have you cleared out cache and cookies?  Are you using a VPN?  Sometimes those block Etsy. 

If you are an LLC then that is why information needs to be confirmed for the recently inaugurated Inform Act.  

Try email rather than chat,  Chat does not have the knowledge for some issues.  THey don't deal with the financial end.

This is a major problem!

Here is a recap of what I have experienced:


10/19 Asked to verify seller info, I had no changes, I went to verify and received errors when trying to do so, I opened a support ticket, my shop was put on vacation, after re-uploading very same documents, Etsy approved and my shop was back up.


10/27- I receive same email as before to verify seller info, I attempt to again, even though I still have no changes, I receive the same errors. I open another support ticket. I receive generic emails about troubleshooting and clearing my cache, I follow instructions, send screenshots of same issues, I am asked to re-upload my business documents, I do, I receive an email from Etsy saying they are verified and I can sell on Etsy. My shop has not been taken off vacation mode and I am still seeing the same red messages at the top of the legal page.

I am a very seasonal shop- selling Halloween photo albums, having my shop down the days leading up to Halloween has been extremely detrimental. I have shared so many etsy links on my social media to drive customers to my store and now they can't get there and I have had no resolution.

It is not that I am not trying to send my info, I have and it's been accepted twice now and still no fix.

I'm having the same issue. Hopefully someone from Etsy can fix the problem very soon.

@HolidaysYearbyYear Did you try clearing cache again for a new cookie?

Use email to contact Etsy with a screenshot and information that your shop has not been released.

yes, multiple times and I have sent the screenshots (I have 2 messages now saying I am cleared and still nothing).

I am having this issue as well. Been trying to get it resolved for 3 weeks. No one is helping. The button to confirm info is not working.

The issue at my shop has been resolved. Please call customer service and inform them that they need to fix the glitch. Below is an example of a conversation with the technical specialist:

 

Hello Amanda,

I wanted to inform you that there is a glitch in the system affecting many Etsy sellers who are experiencing issues when filling out their information. Hopefully, someone from the engineering department can resolve the problem promptly. This issue is negatively impacting sales and the livelihood of our businesses.

My issue was finally resolved, I was not able to find a number to call but after numerous emails on my support tickets something was done on Etsy’s end and I was able to select ‘confirm’ the support message tried to claim it was because I didn’t confirm my seller info in the 10 day period which was beyond infuriating because I opened my support ticket the moment I got the notification to update my seller info and could not. (I log into Etsy every day so I did not miss the notification )

I am glad to see they are aware of the glitch now.

I have informed them of this glitch 3 weeks ago (many times) and they have yet to fix the problem on my account.

I am now still have this problem.  I talked to the chat first they told me to ignore it my info was verified. You can see the blue banner.  However, the confirm seller info is counting down.  Something told me to contact them via phone.  Now it is being escalated, and would get back to me ASAP, I asked how long would that take because the 4 days is counting down before I would not be able to receive money.  She said she could not give me a time frame but about 10 days, the department has a lot issues to deal with.  I’m done, I quit. I give up trying to make sense of this.  Right now I feel like I’m being punked.  Time to go work on my websites.

WTH, it is getting worst everyday around here.  I have had a problem with the explore feature being accidentally removed and for over 8 months I have been going back and forth.  I don’t even want the feature anymore.  I just need a video removed due to a product I don’t sell anymore.  I have contacted the Etsy explore research and the legal department and no one has responded.  But since I have no more faith in Etsy, I have to figure out how to get my customer address in the next 4 days.

Things like this is way Etsy stock is tanking and they are laying off people.  They can’t take care of simple things to fix.

Also, the reps are terrible.  I don’t most of them understand English.  My rep could not understand my email.  

For fun ask them to read back the notes they are giving to their team.  It is always wrong in the most important places.

@myclearstamps  I'm really sorry you're getting the runaround. You've been here for a long time. When it comes to Verification, Re-Verification, etc. (anything financially Shop related), there should be a 24 Hr. contact with a knowledgeable Support person. 
I wonder if it would help for you to "at" Admin thatregina in this Thread.  It's absurd that you can't get the proper assistance.

Based on the posts in this forum I can see the number being flooded by people complaining about their Star Seller stats because they could not be bothered to read and / or follow the rules, so why would they bother to read, or honor the fact, that the number was only for financial matters.

@ChillwolfArt , thanks so much.  Right now I just can’t take anymore.  Thank you for the suggestion.  I am beyond at the end of my rope.  I’m going to go sit in a corner and reevaluate everything.

I've also been dealing with this issue for the last two weeks. We're down to the wire now and our store is about to be put on Vacation Mode. All because it says my personal phone number is missing, but won't let me submit after entering it (greyed out Submit button). The countdown started at 10 days for us. Then a day later it randomly dropped to 7 days and then started counting down normally from there. I've reached out to support and just been told that engineers are working on the problem and there is no timeline for when it will be fixed. Fantastic! I'll just shut down for an unknown length of time and stop making money! I had a ticket going (#15013127) with support and then they just passed me off to another support agent which opened up a new ticket (#15068664) and started the whole process over again. I got the same copy-and-paste message that the first support agent opened with.

@TonsOfPaper , there is a glitch and I have followed it up here is the ticket number #15043006, If you can see why would it take it 10 days to fix it.  That would be helpful.  I have followed and understand the new regulations.

@KeywayDesigns, no I have not gotten it resolved.  I just put my shop on vacation and downloaded all of my 23k customer addresses and my store info.  And I will keep calling them to see what is going on with the ticket.  And I will probably write a letter or report this to someone else.  

I have started working on my website and my other store.  

Etsy customer service is terrible.  One of the problems I have encountered is there is perhaps a language barrier.  Or a competency issue.  I sometimes get the feeling when they are talking to me they do not understand what is going on.  So, I do this trick where I ask them to read to me what they have written on my ticket.  Usually, it is wrong.

Also, as evidenced by the admin reiterating the law they did not read my complaint or it was just a way to close the thread. 

Whatever, it is this is not good customer service.  They would not receive the star seller status that they are asking of us.  

I can't wait to see what happens after the Super Bowl ad airs.  You are not fixing the main problems, search, customer service, counterfeiting, and the stores operating against Etsy TOS.
