Re: Completed orders automatically

Hi there, responding to this post in case anyone comes to find a solution as this just started happening to me last week too. Here is the workaround that worked for me:

I just click edit on the listing > then at the top where it says 'You're using the old listing form' click on switch to new version > change one thing on this page (I've deleted a letter or punctuation or changed the wording) then click publish changes. This fixes it.

Sometimes it gives me an error message and it won't let me save. So then just go back in, edit in the old listing form (change at least one thing) and save. Then go back in and switch to the new listing form, change one thing, and this time it saves.
Sometimes when I look right away it has changed over to 'made to order' immediately and sometimes it takes an hour or so to update. You can see if it worked by looking at your live listing in your store; if under Delivery it still says "Instant Download" it's not fixed. All of mine say "Made-to-order download" right on the listing again now that I fixed them.

I hope this helps!

@Former_Member

I don't know much about how digital downloads work here but first thing that comes to mind is you have them listed incorrectly perhaps. Do you have them listed as made to order digital or instant download digital? Sounds like you have them set as instant download and have uploaded a file etc. Hopefully someone more familiar with how digital stuff works will chime in and help.

Which listing is it? Is it the digital commission listing? If so then it looks like its listed as an instant download when I look. It even says "instant download" on the first photo on the app.  Check the listing in listing manager and make sure you have made to order selected for the when it was made bit of listing.

Yes this a long running glitch with made to order digital listings.

They revert to instant listings upon sale/renew, or because you edit it or because it feels like it.

You can try editing it in the old listing format, to reselect the correct options (made to order in date box, and digital as type), but it doesn't seem to make it stick for long.

Has anyone had a resolution to this problem... I've been a seller for 1 year and probably 90% of that year my orders have been going to "completed". It's so frustrating. I've now had to manually enter my orders into a spreadsheet to keep up with whose i have actually completed and who I am still working on and then I have to message each person to get their email address. I have "chatted" with Etsy numerous times online and on the phone and STILL the issue is ongoing.

@GloryDaysGraphix: "... I have to message each person to get their email address." Completed orders still contain the buyer's eMail address.
