I was searching for some jewelry-making supplies and clicked on a listing in a shop and the listing came up as sold out. How can this be if the listing shows up in someone's shop? I tried several times to access the listing, but it came up as sold out each time. Is this a new thing for sold listings to still show up in our shops?
I also tried using the search filter for "shop location" in the United States, which gave me listings from India.
Perhaps the seller has waitlist as a option?
@After9Marbles All it said was that the listing was sold out and didn't give the option to get on a waitlist. It wouldn't even allow me to click on the listing.

Too often, sellers located in other countries will say they're located in the US, thinking it will help get more views and sales from US buyers. Then you check the ships from country and the truth comes out. The shop listings may get more views, but probably not sales, and the potential buyers clicking away doesn't help either.
Etsy is having a few glitches tonight.
I know sometimes when I renew or add new listings, it can be slow to update and show those listings on my main page, though I can usually access them from other places.
I would assume sold out could be the same and the main page and the listing were out of sync for a time.
@funkydreamsmosaics Maybe that was the case. If it was it was very delayed. I went back after searching other shops and it was still sold out. Also usually when you come across a sold-out listing as in a listing in your favorites, if you click, you can see the option to view the listing. This didn't have that option.
