So I've been trying for a while to mention people using the @ symbol on Forums, but people have been saying that it doesn't notify them and there is no horizontal line underneath their names. I wonder if someone knows how to fix this?

Re: Cannot @ people on forums

I don't have moderator either. It goes right from likes to events.

I'm on a computer.

Re: Cannot @ people on forums

I also don't have a Moderator Settings option in my settings.  What is that?

But I am able to @ people @SmudgePlant @JustJoannaGoods

Does this mean I'm special?

Re: Cannot @ people on forums

Yes, very special.

But I guess that doesn't help since other people don't have that either. That was the only thing I found different in my settings from what you listed.

Re: Cannot @ people on forums

That is really weird. You know I never had a nesting issue either.

Maybe I am a Moderator!

All kidding aside, this is what the choices in that section are:

Moderator Settings

Show Moderator Flag column

Clear moderation flag automatically when a message is read

Re: Cannot @ people on forums

Those sound like moderator settings to me.

Re: Cannot @ people on forums

I'm on a team and I was appointed, as kind of a back up, team leader. Maybe that's why I have that setting.

Please don't shun me. I swear I didn't know I was a Moderator.

Re: Cannot @ people on forums

I'm a leader on a couple of teams as well, so I don't think that's it.

This forum has many glitches that affect some and not others.

@SmudgePlant  @JustJoannaGoods  I don't have moderator settings either, but I'm able to "at" people. (Desktop computer, Chrome).

Re: Cannot @ people on forums

I wish it came with some special powers. I would then grant everyone their ability to @.

Re: Cannot @ people on forums

According to Etsy, "How to @mention someone" you simply type @ and the first few letters of the shop name and you should see suggested results However this has never worked for me despite trying all the recommended settings. What I did notice is that the @shopname is a hyperlink to the URL of the owner's forum profile. In the reply box you can create a link by clicking on the insert/edit link icon and pasting in the URL and the typing in the text to display e.g.   @JustJoannaGoods . What I don't know is whether this notifies the owner. Maybe you could let me know.
