@pinkwisteriadesigns The buyer can leave a review but, if he/she requested a cancellation, it’s unlikely it would be negative.

Etsy claims even cancellation orders can leave a review within 48 hours, but I have not been able to do that in the past. Most people that request to cancel do not leave a review and do not think about trying to leave a review. You need to cancel, which will also refund automatically. If you do not cancel, then the order stays open and hurts your account. If it stays open long enough, Etsy will force you into vacation mode thinking that you are unable to fill your orders. Refunds are more for people that are refunding an order that shipped and maybe it was damaged or something and they need to refund. When you cancel the order, your listing fees and processing fees, etc. are all refunded back to you.

If you do not cancel you do not get your Etsy fees back--and the order will remain open--forever. Etsy may also put your shop on reserve and you will have to wait 45 days and prove your orders are shipped before getting your money deposited.
Why on earth someone would WANT this is beyond my thinking.

Re: Cancel or Refund
Is it an order that has shipped? Probably need more information on the situation.

Re: Cancel or Refund
You want to cancel. Refunding without cancellation keeps the order open. You want to close it completely.

Re: Cancel or Refund
In order to cancel, you must fully refund also.

Re: Cancel or Refund
Once you cancel the order it's automatically refunded now. However, the buyer can still leave a review within 48 hours of the cancellation.
