Can't get shop back to active after holiday mode after a week of trying

I put my shop on holiday mode while away and last Friday (1st July) I altered the setting to shop active/not on holiday but nothing changed, my shop remained closed, so after 3 days I reported this as a problem. After 3 days I got a response asking me for the last 4 numbers of my card bank account, last bill etc. I could see no reason for this - I reported the problem through my Etsy account and the information was on my Etsy account. I provided the information and another day passed before I received a reply telling me things had been sorted and the shop was active. It is not, it remains closed. It's poor customer service when they don't bother to check whether they've solved the problem before telling a customer they have. So I responded yesterday saying it had not been fixed and my shop was still closed 8 days after I had tried to reopen. Does anyone have any advice please, or experienced the same problem and got it sorted?

Your shop message says that you will be open in mid July. Did you write this vacation notice or did Etsy? 

You'll have to keep after Etsy customer service (sadly) saying that you still need help on the help request ticket that they've been answering you on. Elevate and ask for a call back. Don't open more than one request for help or you'll be placed back in the help queue. Good luck.

Also for short duration breaks (under a week or two) some sellers opt to stretch out their processing/shipping times to avoid problems when reopening and to keep their product in view of buyers. Might be a suggestion for the future. I took a short 3 day vacay when my laptop went in to the repair shop last fall and I was really lucky as it turns out that I had a seamless reopening. Same after a 50+ day vacation during the holidays last winter.

@SilverForLifeDesigns   I see numbers under you shop sections - that wouldn't be showing if you were on Vacation!  There is a known glitch with indexing after coming back from vacation mode - try this fix -

Got to shop manager  - listings - check the box to select all your items and deactivate them.  Then re-activate them.  Note to anyone reading - this is not the same as deleting - don't do that!  You will not be charged anything to deactivate / reactivate.

* Also - change your shop announcement.

Thank you for your suggestions. I have gone to my listings, selected 'active' but when all my products come up the say 'deactivated by etsy' in red and 'activate' is greyed out as are the little selection boxes.

can't change my shop announcement. In settings it shows as active but still shows announcement at front end.

@SilverForLifeDesigns Yikes! Your shop is on Etsy's radar for some reason. Not enough history in your shop to know why. Customer service is your only option.

If the listings say "deactivated by etsy", then this is definitely something only etsy can fix. It's NOT a result of you putting it on vacation mode intentionally and not being able to reinstate active mode.

Your only recourse is to continue to pester etsy, using the same contact information you originally had. Opening another ticket will close out the first one, and put you at the back of the line. Have you tried chat or a callback?

I don't think your shop is currently in vaca mode.  Next thing to try - put your shop on vacation mode again, then turn off.

No pink banner for vaca mode, and your shop sections are showing with numbers - there's no way that would show if Etsy had deactivated your items for some reason.

 

They are diddling around with lots of stuff - last night, there were tons of people that couldn't even access Shop Manager.  Must be a glitch - but try the Vaca mode again.

@GoodfellowsRoad If you recently came off of Vaca mode - do what I advised - deactivate / reactivate your listings (not vaca mode).  If that doesn't work, you'll need to contact Support.

@GoodfellowsRoad your shop is open but your items are not indexed for search. You will need to contact Etsy Support and tell them 'Shop is not indexed'.

@SilverForLifeDesigns if you provided business information and any outstanding bill has been paid (if applicable) and they say all is well... then it sounds like you're just waiting on an etsy specialist to reopen your shop. There's no set time when this will happen. Everyone has different time frames. In the meantime while you're waiting you may want to read up on the Sellers Handbook  https://www.etsy.com/seller-handbook

Exactly, my shop isn’t on vacation mode! When trying to advertiselistings you cannot as my shop apparently is on holiday mode… after 5 days of this setting being changed. I have tried turning off an on again.

Your shop is not indexed. That’s different from vacation mode. You have to contact Etsy about that.

As for them asking for the 4 digits on your card on file, I believe this is a security function. While it may seem unnecessary, if someone had hacked into your account, they would also be contacting Etsy through your account, they just want to confirm that you are the rightful person to be in there. I realize you say you eventually provided them with this information, so this is just to give you and other readers a possible reason for needing to provide it.

The only flaw with that process is that I looked up the info in my etsy account - if someone was already in my account they had the information there.
