Hello,
I can't edit my shop's announcement since about a year and I could use some help.
First of all, the date is stuck to August 2021 and no matter what I do, it never changes. This is a problem that Etsy seems to be aware of for months now but my account still has this issue. Would be great if they fixed that.
But the big problem is, I go to change my announcement, edit it, save it, publish it. Then when I look at my shop as a buyer, an old announcement comes up, not what I just wrote and saved.
When I go to edit the announcement again, it's my new text that's in the box, so it seems to be saved somewhere but just can't go live on the shop.
So I delete it and save it, then go and check my shop as a buyer and it disappears (this is normal). Edit again with new text, save, publish, check as a buyer and oh great... the old text comes up again.
I have tried EVERYTHING.
Through the apps on different phones and tablets, through basically all the navigators under the sun, and from different computers (in different locations with different IP's) and even tried in multiple languages.
Nothing is working. I'm so very frustrated.
I have contacted Etsy support for this problem multiple times, but nothing was done.
The replies I had been either completely off topic or just a robot message over and over again with a tutorial on how to edit my announcement. I managed at some point after like 5 email exchanges to get an actual person to care for a split-second just to say they'll pass on the information to IT, then they closed the conversation.
It has been months now.
This is preventing me from keeping buyers updated on sales, codes or things to come. I need this tool.
Does anyone else have this problem?
Do you have a solution?
Is there a way to actually contact a human from Etsy?

I FIXED IT!
Here is Etsy's e-mail that helped me fix it :
"After taking a look at your account, I see that when you opened your shop the default language was set in French. That said when you update your shop announcement and the viewer's language preference is in English or other languages it will not show the edited version.
It's like when you're writing the descriptions in English, but have a different shop language. In this case, it's best to change your default shop language. Please note changing your default shop language is different from changing the language at the bottom of your Etsy page.

you havd no announcement, and no about section..... there isn't an "old" one, you don't have one at all.
The only date I see is the year 2021, which is when you opened, that won't change

you have no return policies, or gdpr policy, or address and e-mail address in sellers details,
.....
if you have logged a ticket, you have to keep replying to the same ticket, saying it's not fixed your problem, if you open new ones, the old ones are closed, and the new one starts at the bottom
go to community and help - contact us, you can open a ticket in e-mail, then you have a record, and can escalate
@CrossStitchedMoon Your currenlty have no shop announcement, in the account you are posting from.
You should be able to change it two ways - in Edit shop mode - after you edit, at the bottom you need to "View Shop" to save and exit edit mode.
The other way is Shop Manager - Settings - Info & Appearance - after you edit, scroll down to Save Changes.
Perhaps it's a device or browser issue, if you are not able to do the above?

I don't have an announcement in my shop right now because when I edit it, an old message announcing my shop opening soon from 2 years ago comes up and not the one I just typed and saved. No matter what I type in and save, the old one comes up again and again, except when I delete it completely then nothing shows up. I'd rather have nothing right now than a wrong announcement from 2 years ago.
Also, I know HOW to edit the announcement, that's not the problem here.
The problem is that the Etsy servers don't seem to register the new informations submitted and keep publishing the old one (announcement of the shop opening soon) because those are local informations.
I keep contacting the Etsy support team and explaining the problems over and over again. They just send me tutorials on how to edit the announcement ignoring the fact that this is not the issue here. And even if I reply, they just close the conversation after posting the same thing.

Unfortunately it doesn't change anything. As I said in my first post, I tried this but the problem persists.
