I am trying to open a new shop and after I finished inputting my bank info, a window popped up saying that I need to confirm my email address. I confirmed the address in my gmail account and a message appeared in the email up saying it was confirmed, with a link to continue setting up my shop. I clicked on the link and was back to the page where I need to confirm my email address. I am stuck in a loop where I can't go any further.
I emailed support and whoever received my email did not read it and replied with a generic response regarding account suspension. My account was not suspended. I then started a chat this was his response. "It sounds like you're experiencing an issue that our engineering team is looking into. Thank you for reporting this, it lets us know how widespread the issue is and helps our teams prioritize fixes. At this time, we don't have an estimated timeframe for when this will be resolved." So I asked "So you telling me that no one can open a new shop right now??" His reply was "yes that's correct." I find it hard to believe that no one can open a new shop right now and I honestly don't know what else to do. Is anyone else experiencing this?
@HootandHollerGifts Do you have another browser (e.g. Chrome, Edge, Firefox) that you can copy and paste the confirmation link to?
There may be something such as a cookie, plug-in or an extension in the browser you started the process with that is causing the loop.
Thank you. But that's what I thought. I tried 3 different browsers, 2 different computers, cleared the cache and cookies. Even created a different email and password.
As you have found out Etsy Support is very limited!! However, when you receive a generic response you must respond to it saying you still need help or the issue is simply closed down.
Firstly, as mentioned above, try with a different browser to see if that will help as it might be an issue related to your device rather than Etsy.
Thank you . I did reply to the Etsy email. And I tried 3 different browsers on 1 computer and 2 different browsers on another computer.
