Hi! I am kind of baffled and hoping someone can help me out here...I have been trying to list an original painting of mine for over an hour and it keeps getting immediately deactivated by Etsy. It is for an "Original Acrylic Painting of a Havana Brown Cat with Wildflowers, 8x10" I have listed paintings like this for YEARS and have never had this happen before. Any ideas? Also will Etsy refund my activation fees (curious). Thanks in advance for any ideas you guys can come up with!
So when I woke up this morning and checked my shop I see that Etsy has un-deactivated (reactivated?) my listings. LOL . No explanations--the listings were all there
Don't use Cuba either..or Amber.
Ohhh! I did not know that! Thanks so much!
Is there a list somewhere of forbidden words on Etsy? I wonder how to list my Havana Brown Cat paintings now since it is an awesome breed of kitty I like to paint...
Just describe what it looks like, as though the buyer is looking for that type of cat without knowing the name of the breed. Short-hair brown cat etc.
Yes I guess I will list them as short-haired BROWN kitty cats now. Thank you, have a great night
I think you can use that word but it will be automatically deactivated by the Etsybots, you will then have to contact them and wait for a real person to review and reactivate the listing. Etsy is notoriously slow to respond to most support requests.
In future if you have an item deactivated by Etsy it's a good idea to try to find out why before wasting another listing fee by trying to relist it. It's doubtful that Etsy will refund your fees but if you are lucky enough to get to speak to someone (albeit by email) then you can ask.
Just out of interest, did they send you an email to explain why it was deactivated?
Nope no email. Sigh. You are right though, I should have waited, I just figured it was some kind of glitch since I've sold paintings with the same title many times before.

Hello, everyone! We appreciate your feedback and since the appropriate guidance has already been provided, I'll go ahead and close the thread to prevent it from going off-topic.
