Can I have multiple shops on prints? If one is digital, other is physical.

Title says it all. Can I have multiple shops on prints? If one is digital, other is physical. I know we can have multiple shops if products are the same. But I am not sure if etsy will allow me to have a second shop for physical posters when I have a shop for digital posters.

My understanding is that multiple shops are permitted, but they cannot sell identical products. A digital product is not identical to a physical product.

We are kinda afraid etsy may see them as identical because we will be selling the similar posters in both shops

Most shops sell both in the same shop. I think you can even put both in the same listing with options. You might have to email the digital in that case. Never have done it myself, since some of my digitals reach  35 pages.

You CAN do it, but it's hard to say if that would work well to break up those options. Perhaps if you had a short announcement for each shop to reference the other "Looking for something already printed? Check out my other Etsy shop at ....". Maybe even add a link to each listing directly to the other format in the other store to make sure you don't lose sales once you've got someone interested. More info than you asked for (ha!), but it occurred to me how I might react as a buyer looking for art.

I am pretty sure it’s allowed by Etsy, but there may be some business decisions you want to think about.

For example, if you have 2 shops you might be competing with yourself depending on how buyers search.

On the other hand, if you list both your digital and your physical in 1 listing with variations it will always list the cheapest price first and that will skew your prices. Better to use 2 different listings for these options but again, refine your SEO to help drive buyers to the option you prefer they buy.

If still in doubt and you really want 2 shops you can always email Etsy to ask.

Thank you! We are concerned the SEO issues as well! 
But it will hard for us to track the sales and don't want to ruin our current workflow in digital one. 

So hard to decide.

How did this go for you? I see you still have the digital downloads so not suspended there then. I couldnt find a 'prints' shop though, did you make it, was it allowed? How did the SEO go? Sorry I know lots of questions. Congrats on all the sales btw.
