Dear Etsy -- Although the crop function works well in the new listing layout, the adjust feature is to all extents and purposes, not useable. It takes 4 to 5 tries to get it done (sometimes 6 or 7!). The preview shows the necklace positioned correctly but when you actually look at it in the shop, it has not taken. And we close the shop and reenter to double check it, hit F5 to refresh, etc., and it's just not working.
This slows us down to the point where we no longer post new items nearly as often as we did in the past. This is costing us sales, and costing Etsy money also. PLEASE FIX!!!!! It has been like this since Day 1 of the new listing and we're really tired of it.
it just took me 43 tries.
(and to the people who say just upload a pic already cropped, that would be fine were it not for the fact that we need images that work in 1:1 and 4:3. if i make my images good at 4:3, they are too zoomed out at 1:1.)
It's been broken for YEARS and I doubt they'll fix it any time soon.
Just take the photo the way you want it to appear in the thumbnail instead of wasting time screwing around with it on Etsy.
Do Etsy's employees even read these forums/questions??? I just sent an email to Etsy support asking them what to do, because it was kind of working before after 2 or 3 tries, but it doesn't work at all now.
Wouldn't it be nice if basic things here on Etsy worked?
This is indeed very annoying although it seems to have been copied from the old form because the issue was already at hand before. I have noticed that the issue does seem to correct itself after awhile when I leave it alone. I will try 2 or 3 times but will stop then because it is of no use to try any longer.
Yes, I've recently noticed that if I come back an hour or two later and check, it sometimes, but not always, has settled into the new crop.
We seem to have better luck with this very late at night, maybe because Etsy is not as busy. I'm wondering if servers strained by traffic volume could have something to do with it.
With over 1,000 entries in the shop, built up over a period of 15 years, we cannot retake photos, of course, we just have to deal with what we have.
