Hello all.
I have had no reviews for 3 weeks. I have had two buyers write to say that they tried to leave a review and are unable to, I have written in chat 3 times to try to get someone to resolve the issue....with no luck. It is now apparently impossible to get anyone from Etsy to speak with directly and it is very frustrating. I believe that this problem is costing me sales.
Anyone else having this problem? Any solutions?
I would appreciate help.

Before posting on the Forums, please check if you are not bumping an old thread that hasn't seen any activity in a while. You can do this by looking at the dates of the most recent replies.

I doubt it's costing you sales, however it's not helping either.
Did your customers wait until the review window was open before trying to leave a review? Etsy makes customers wait to ensure there has been enough time for the order to be delivered.
Are they using the app? Have they tried using the website via a browser?
Are they getting an error message? Support will need this kind of information in order to investigate the bug.
Do you realise that song lyrics are copyrighted? You might need to research intellectual property law otherwise you could have bigger problems.
@UpAgainstTheWall The window for leaving a review opens for the buyer based on the latest date for estimated delivery, based on your processing time and postage class selected. The Buyer will see a date on their purchases and reviews page of when they will be able to leave feedback, and once the window opens, there will be a red dot on their profile icon that stays there for 100 days, or until they leave feedback. They may also get pop-ups on Etsy, and even email reminders to leave feedback.
I usually see reviews come in bunches, then nothing for days or weeks.

I have never had 20 days without a review and customers are writing to complain that the site wont allow them to review!
Thank you for responding. It is not a problem with the review window. Customers are saying that the site will not let them post a review period. I No error message.
What has happened to the support Etsy used to give my phone? I have been on 3 chats about the problem and no one has resolved the problem.
The chat is useless. They never help only escalate. and then you hear from the days later. Again with no resolution just a lot of canned responses. Support is terrible

Etsy will no allow a review until the end of the expected date has lapsed. It is a ridiculous policy. They should allow buyers to leave reviews after the item is received. This is why Etsy buyers do not leave reviews. They receive the item and then are not able to review so thats it. I send an email to each and every buyer after this period to check up on the order and make sure they are happy. I hope this prompts them to leave a review. I have brought this issue up many times with zero response as usual from the robot like support at Etsy. It seems making a change is like moving a rock up hill. Etsy is a fun place to sell and buy, but if you ever need support you can forget it.

I think that my buyers are in many cases waiting until the window for review is open....but still there was a problem.
For sone unknown reason yesterday the to people were able to leave reviews. I hope that the issue has been solved....but Im not convinced.

@FashionDollPhotos actually it's a very good policy and one that sellers asked for. Without it, we would be getting buyers leaving reviews about not receiving an item way before it is scheduled to arrive (thanks Am*zon for conditioning buyers for 'instant' gratification).
The window opens after the processing and estimated delivery time so there's at least a decent chance the order has been received before Etsy begins nagging buyers about leaving a review. No need for you to send yet another (subtle) review reminder.
Guest Buyers cannot leave reviews.
Me!!! I just got my very first sale and the buyer wanted to leave a review but she was unable to. The shipping got delayed, not anybody’s fault so I think the window closed for leaving review before she recieved the product.
Did she use a guest account?

Yep. So if the review window closed before the buyer received it, the package was over 3 months late.
I've just received an item that is the wrong length but Etsy's going to make me wait a month to write a review. Dodgy sellers could easily push out projected delivery dates to minimise the chance of buyers leaving negative reviews. The system should be smart enough to detect when an item is delivered and open up the review option.
@detentedesigns I wouldn't wait to leave a review. Have you contacted the seller? If they haven't responded with a solution that meets your satisfaction I would open a case for not as described now.
@detentedesigns: "I've just received an item that is the wrong length ..." Reviews should not be used as a way of communicating with the seller that there is an issue with the order. Contact them directly - they may be the best seller on the planet but one who just doesn't check reviews all the time. A review should be about the entire transaction, including how they handled what could be an honest mistake.
What about digital files? My customer received his order and is happy, told me via messages but he cant leave a review. it's been two days. and it's a digital download.
Buyers are unable to leave reviews because Etsy blocks this access. I have the same problem. I do not care anymore because I am planning to close my account on Etsy, even though I have all eight 5-star reviews since October of 2023.
