Hello,
My buyer has left a review on 07 Dec despite 'Buyer expects 03-08 Dec'. Etsy chat agent confirmed the estimated dates are 03-08 Dec.
The Seller Policy states:
"Buyers can leave a review, including a one to five star rating and a photograph or video of their purchase, within 100 days after the latter date of their item’s estimated delivery date."
I believe from the content of the (one star) review that the buyer has responded to a prompt from Etsy to leave a review:
"Still waiting for delivery so can’t review postal strike"
Many sellers are receiving low reviews and disgruntled messages regarding orders held up in the UK postal strikes and these could be lessened by Etsy not sending review prompts early and not opening the review window early. I believe this to be in breach of the Seller Policy.
Etsy should adhere to the terms (review window opens after LATTER date of estimated delivery dates) and better still, avoid antagonizing buyers by suspending the review prompts for UK sellers and buyers until the industrial action by UK postal service is concluded.
I'm so sorry this has happened to you. This is what I've been dreading throughout these Royal Mail strikes. Have you contacted your customer to explain what is happening at the moment with mail/parcels within the UK? I wouldn't ask her to change her review at the moment, but contacting her may help as a first step.
We get screwed in this manner here in the States even without the postal strikes you face. The fact is, Etsy is usually screwed up in the way it implements just about everything, and that definitely includes their review system. They need to take a hard look at it all and rework how they do it, but yes, this is a definite problem for UK right now. Come on Etsy, surely there is some common sense somewhere in admin.
@AloraEco: Wouldn't that review qualify as "Reviews that are solely about things outside of the seller’s control—such as the actions of a shipping carrier, Etsy, or a third party—may be in violation of our policies." per https://help.etsy.com/hc/en-us/articles/115015808588-What-to-Do-if-You-Receive-a-Negative-Review?seg...
That would make common sense to any of us, wouldn't it @BagmakerSupply . However, historically Etsy won't remove a review unless it names the third party "BY NAME" no matter how obvious it is what the buyer is referring to.
