I have my shop on vacation for a few days, but a few hours before I listed a custom order for a person that I have been communicating with for about two weeks. She is having trouble buying and paying for the custom order of 35 items. She has not said if she is getting an error or anything helpful as to why she is having the problem. She is in the US and did say she called her bank and the bank said her card is fine.
Besides calling customer support do you have any advice for her?
No one can buy your items while you are in vacation mode. Your items don't show as for sale. She will have to wait until you are back or you will have to remove the vacation mode just long enough for her to buy.
Yes, but she was trying to buy before I put my shop on vacation
But then you shut the door and closed down. Nobody can buy when you aren't open.
Has she tried multiple ways to pay? She may be just trying the same card multiple times.
Only with a credit card which she says her bank is good. If she does not have another credit card, I might suggest she buy a pre-paid credit card. I can't remember a buyer having this problem in the past.
Paypal is another option.
On May 7 (today), you posted the following ...
"Our store will be closed until Monday, 5/13/2024. We should be able to respond to questions but will not be able to process and ship out orders until Wednesday, 5/15/2024."
Nobody can purchase from a store that is in vacation mode, no matter how many times they try. No need for you to contact Customer Support, and no need for them to purchase with a prepaid card ... you both just need to wait til your Etsy shop is off vacation mode. It's as simple as that! Wishing you & your buyer best of luck!
See original post, she was trying to buy BEFORE the shop was put on vacation
