Star Seller Miscalculated

So if I reply to buyer query within 24 hrs and they thank me, I have to reply again within 24 hrs and if they thank me again, again I have to reply… basically I have to ensure I reply to everything and anything within 24 hrs otherwise it effects my star seller status! Something not right, Etsy needs to rethink this.

All new messages need a reply or be marked as spam. You do not need to keep replying in an ongoing conversation. You only need to respond again if they start a new message.

You just have to reply to each new message thread - ONCE, once the thread is replied to, you don't need to reply again to the same thread.

If they open a help request as well, it is separate, as that starts the clock ticking for a case to be opened, but you still only have to reply to that message thread once.

You only need to reply ONCE to every new message.  If the buyer responds by opening a new message, you will need to respond to that new message or mark it as spam.  However, if they reply to the original message, you don't need to reply a second time to that message.

Sales made in the last day or two of the month may not be counted until the following month (so as to allow sufficient time for Etsy to verify responses etc).  Each month the badge is awarded based on the previous 3 months, IE for the May badge, Etsy counts statistics from Feb, Mar and Apr.  

Also, you need to have passed the 90 day mark since your first sale, to even qualify for the program.  I would hazard a guess that hasn't happened yet.

@BellaJewelleryUK: The Star Seller metric is NOT all new messages but only the first message of all new incoming threads. You can confirm this by looking the applicable CSV file on your Star Seller page.
