Hello, as a newbie seller on Etsy, I just wanted to let you know to protect yourself about these scam messages.
I need to know is there anything to do beside report these messages as scam?
here's a sample message that I received from different names; ( I got 4 in a week.)
"Hi, I have a problem that probably has to do with my last Etsy listing. When I click the "Buy" button, etsy asks for the seller's email. postal address, can you provide an e-mail address? postal address so I can pay? Sincerely, Alfred! "
all the best
thank you.

Yes these scammers have been targeting new sellers for weeks, the forum is full of warnings
just keep marking them as spam.
so now they want your home address?
for what.
are they coming over to pay you?
Yes they also send fishing email beside Etsy nessage with same content. But these emails from a random address but pretending to look like its an email from Etsy.
What you can do: put the messages in your spam folder. This actually does not report anything to Etsy, it merely keeps that particular message thread from re-appearing in your inbox and keeps your Star Seller score from being affected. Etsy already knows about these scams and is shutting accounts, but the scammers just make more.
Anyone who does give them their email address must be careful of emails that appear to come from Etsy. They can look very real and lead to pages that look like Etsy pages, but they are fake. Don't click on any links in emails, always check your shop for orders or messages.
think they will bring flowers & chocolates?
this is the first i have heard of the wanting your postal address scam.
i would give them the address of the FBI.
they seem to want more and more each time, they will be asking to borrow the car next
They use different languages with random photos and names in e-mails.

@IneedArtDesign This has been a continual problem this year on Etsy. Good thing you didn't fall for it.
When an actual sale comes through, it will appear on your shop dashboard and the money will appear in your shop payment account. if Etsy needs to confirm or verify anything, Etsy will not send a link. Instead, they will refer you back to your shop. Usually Etsy also puts the request on your shop dashboard.

This is the key. The scammers appear to send sellers back to Etsy through a link, but they send them to fake Etsy pages and even fake Etsy chats.
It's been more than 1 month since I opened a shop on Etsy. I'm fed up, they are constantly sending me messages, they never give up and they try a different method every time.
