Bank details hacked

Despite several emails, using chat and phone "help" I've got/ received no help with resolving this. Any advice please on getting help.

Only Etsy will be able to assist you with any issues regarding payment/banking information.

If you provide us with some more details as to how it was hacked, maybe some users can shed light on it through their experience.

By phonw help do you mean you gave Etsy your phone number?  No phone number found on google works.

Did chat refer your issue?

Are you saying the shop is hacked as you can't get into it or just the bank details?

You may have keylogging on your computer or your phone may be unsecure.  Run anti-virus.  Take all precautions on a clean computer.  Notify bank of the issue.

@CoutiqueTextiles  I'm so sorry this happened to you.  Please report it to the authorities; this is a cyber crime.  In the meantime, I hope an Etsy Admin can help you.

@CoutiqueTextiles Put your shop on vacation until you get this resolved. At least that way, you won't make any sales.

I still don't understand how hackers' bank accounts are being opened in a seller's name, much less approved by Etsy and Plaid and making sales and deposits. There are some huge gaps in the approval process going on.

@AnchorRoadVintage It can only happen if the seller gives access to their device, passwords, and financial info via a phishing email or fraudulent phone call. It's not going through the Etsy approval process. It's someone signing into the shop, because they got the password, and changing the account information. The other possibility is that it's someone the seller knows, who has access to their passwords.

I'm not talking about how the seller was hacked but what comes after. If money is going into the new bank account then it has been vetted and approved by Etsy.
