I received an email from Etsy stating that Plaid was not able to verify my bank account and I needed to re-enter my banking info. However, when I try to do so nothing happens when I click the 're-enter bank details' button. Is anyone else having this problem? Also, I've used the same bank/accounts for many years, not sure why there would be an issue in the first place.

Re: Bank Account Verification
It took me over a week and many emails to Etsy to get the PLAID verification to work. The first several emails were basic form letters telling me to follow the Etsy instructions . OF COURSE .........they didn't work and the website did not allow the actions the emails instructed. So after numerous replies from different agents and my numerous LARGE COMPLAINTS I finally got someone who asked for all my account info , bank info etc and after I gave them that.........they replied that they had RESET my account and that NOW I could reenter the info to do a MANUAL verification with two small deposits. (my small credit union was not on plaids list even though its been used for years by etsy) I did the info this morning and the two deposits came in a couple hours later and I entered that info and TADA............ I'm now verified!!
woowoo ! don't give up but it sure is a hassle !!!!!!!!

Re: Bank Account Verification
you put your bank account number first--then on the next screen you put your routing number. Don't put your routing number in twice unless the screen tells you to do so.
I did have to put in my bank account number more than once but it was on different screens.

Re: Bank Account Verification
I have 20 days to do this. I am seriously contemplating if this is a deal breaker for me. It may be too much of a hassle for a small shop (hobby) as well as giving access to PLAID.

Re: Bank Account Verification
I'm not thrilled about Plaid either. The user agreement is so lengthy you need a lawyer to translate it! My business isn't big enough to have this kind if hassel.

I'm thinking along the same lines. I don't like putting my personal information out there repeatedly.

Re: Bank Account Verification
@NittanyMountain: "I have sent this same issue to Etsy Support 4 times now." DO NOT open a new issue or contact Etsy multiple times about the same issue (doing so closes the one you already opened and puts the new one on the bottom of the pile). Every eMail from Etsy support will have a link something like "I Still Need Help". Click on that link (or actually reply stating that you still need help) to keep the report alive. You may have to do this innumerable times, but once on each Etsy reply, before anything is done but do not give up.
Often the first response you get from customer support is an automated reply meant to weed out the people who contact support over common issues that can be easily solved.

Re: Bank Account Verification
All 4 times were from the same email where it says I still need help. I didn't get any response on the last two. If my account gets shut down, I'm leaving Etsy and pursuing a different venue to sell my handmade items. This is getting too stressful for me and the service we are getting is not acceptable.

Re: Bank Account Verification
I am also trapped in Plaid Purgatory. Initiated manually two weeks ago and never got the deposits. Opened a help ticket asking them to restart the process, no one replied but the option to restart eventually appeared. Re-initiated. Still nothing. Opened a new help ticket. No reply. Installed Plaid and gave them my info, thinking maybe I could work backwards. Nothing. Waiting for deposits again and hoping they appear magically. I have 14 days left on my countdown. Anxiety has arrived.
I don't really know what to do at this point. If my account is suspended because of this I'll be gutted because I've been selling here since 2009, but I'm also really exhausted by the incompetence. I get the feeling there isn't a person working here who cares about the sellers, despite the fact that they all get their paychecks and stock options because we choose to sell here. Sellers are held to incredibly high customer service standards (IE "star seller") and yet the customer service for sellers here is non-existent.

Re: Bank Account Verification
At this point it kinda seems to me that they don't want people selling on their platform. It's like they're self sabotaging themselves.

Re: Bank Account Verification
I still haven't heard from anyone in response to my support requests. My payment account still says that Plaid isn't connected BUT when I go into my Plaid account in the Plaid app it shows me that my Etsy account IS connected! So I really don't know wtf is going on. I'm more confused than before.

Re: Bank Account Verification
It took them 12 days to reply to my support request and their suggestion is that I UPDATE MY BROWSER.
Y'ALL. I don't get angry easily but this is too much. They didn't even read my help requests.
And the audacity to say "Get back in touch if you have any more questions. We're here to help!"
UH YEA, I do need more help because you didn't even begin to address the issue?
This is absolutely ridiculous.

Re: Bank Account Verification
Yes, what DipAdora said! I thought the very same thing. It almost seems as if they're trying to get rid of certain sellers but why?? Most of us who are receiving this message seem to be long time sellers here on Etsy.

Re: Bank Account Verification
Uggh! Same issue here. I've been going nuts trying to verify my accounts that I've had for years! I literally woke up at 4am terrified that Etsy is going to suspend my accounts because of this. I got onto a chat this morning but they were no help whatsoever and told me to request a call back, which I did, but so far no one has called back. What are we to do?? This is maddening! C'mon Etsy, you can do better than this. If it's a glitch please at least contact those of us who you sent this message to and ease our minds so we don't have to stress at this already stressful time of the year. Right before the holidays when we're counting on our biggest sales of the year! We don't need the stress. We jump through enough hoops as it is and we're trying to do everything by the book. Throw us a bone, will ya please?

Re: Bank Account Verification
I have been with Etsy for around 6 years now. I am a very small shop. I went through the process online with the Plaid thing. I don't do online banking!!! I called my bank's automated system to find the two (small) deposits that they had sent. I entered them in Etsy and I was told that they were wrong and for me to try another account. I stopped by my bank and asked the young lady working there to print the activity for that account for the last week. when I got home, I found that one deposit was exactly right, but the other sum was off by 1 cent! I had to laugh because I know that finding someone to work with me from Etsy or Plaid was not going to happen (right). This used to be fun and a good way to place some items to good homes in our attempt to downsize. It seems that Etsy changed its course when it changed management a few years back. It ain't warm and fuzzy no mo!

Re: Bank Account Verification
I am having trouble with this Plaid issue also and unable to get any help. I don't think Etsy is supportive of the small shop anymore. I will probably drop out of Etsy . I have another question...in order to update my browser like they request; I would have to get a new computer and my Apple isn't old enough to want to get a new one. Will Etsy not work at all is I don't get a new browser?(another question I can't find an answer to.)

Re: Bank Account Verification
Hi guys, I don't want to count my chickens here but we FINALLY got through to Etsy to get a callback by some miracle. My husband just kept putting in for a call back and this morning they called us back and got the bank verification straightened out for us quickly and easily. Oddly, yesterday I myself put in for a call back and no one ever called back, but thankfully someone called my husband back today and got this rectified. Don't give up. Keep putting in for a call back until you speak to someone and they can get this rectified for you. Our payouts are on hold for five days for "security" reasons (??) but still, I'm glad this is rectified and that our shops won't be suspended. That's a huge relief in itself, but again, not counting my chickens just yet. We'll pray that this is truly resolved and we'll see how it goes. Moral of the story....don't give up. It shouldn't be this difficult but keep trying to get that call back! As far as Etsy goes, they really should have a phone help line for us sellers at least. I hope they reinstate that soon. Thank you Etsy for fixing our issue! I hope everyone else can get theirs fixed too!!

Re: Bank Account Verification
Is there a number to call for a "call back" ? I'm in the email line and having the same problem as others here. I entered my banking information, all went smoothly, but I have never received the deposits. I tried entering random deposit amounts to see what would happen, and got a page that had a DIFFERENT account number. I saved a screen shot and attached it to my email reply. I'm worried that my account will be suspended through no fault of my own. Etsy, you need to shake off this globalist shake down of your company and look out for your content creators. To take your content providers for granted will ruin your future outlook.

Re: Bank Account Verification
No, Etsy no longer has a phone number that you can call to speak to someone. You just have to keep putting in for a call back via the "contact us" feature unfortunately. Etsy really needs to have a better method of dealing with issues with their sellers. They should provide us a phone number since we are helping to fund their website.

Re: Bank Account Verification
After eighteen years in financial IT, this whole mess is in Etsy’s lap. It does not appear that prior to this round of changes, that etsy did not do a run with real data to determine the efficacy of the new system. I have no patience for anything IT-related that remotely smells rotten. Goodbye etsy, hello Bonanza!

There is no manual way to enter bank info again. Never got deposits in account. Reached a dead end. Got 4 days to verify. This is insane.

Re: Bank Account Verification
Same here. No deposits & Etsy Support response completely unhelpful. I've been trying to get this taken care of for 3 weeks.
