I noticed that our bill for November is unreasonably high, so I checked the itemized activity for November. 61 items automatically renewed on Nov. 28! These are all items that we published on staggered dates, so there is no way they would all come up for automatic renewal on the same day. This must be a glitch, there's no way we would have set half of our listings to renew within the same week, much less on the same day. Someone from Etsy, please help! What should we do about this bill, which is about 14 Euro higher than it should be?

Re: Automatic renewal of 61 items in one day??
When you started your shop, you would have created new listings to fill it, probably quite a lot of listings. Each listing has a shelf life of 4 months or until a sale occurs. When you list items with multiple quantities, each time you sell one of those quantities, the listing renews with the remaining quantity and the clock resets on the 4 month period. Depending on how long you have had your shop it is not beyond the realms of possibility that 61 listings could reach their expiry on any given day.

Betreff: Automatic renewal of 61 items in one day??
I understand what you're saying, and 3-4 listings renewing on the same day is not out of the realm of possibility, but 61 definitely is. As I mentioned in my post, the original publication dates of the renewed items were staggered. In addition, all but a few of our items are 1-offs, and do not renew if they sell (not to mention, sales have been sparse lately, which is why we have a negative balance in the first place).

"Auto-renew' is different than "renew sold" when an item sells one of multiples. Auto-renew is a setting on the listing. I keep all of my items on manual renew so that I can evaluate exactly which items I want continue to have in the shop.

Thanks for your reply. Can you point me in a direction re: how to get in touch with a human from Etsy?

Re: Automatic renewal of 61 items in one day??
You have to go through the HELP pages.
You'll get a bot reply and you have to keep replying to that same email, you still need help.
Etsy does not have a phone # listed nor an email, any you find online are scammers.

Re: Automatic renewal of 61 items in one day??
Contact etsy about this and try for a refund IDK if they can see that they were previously set for manual renew, and staggered for renew dates. Then check all your listings to make sure none of them have been set for auto renew, or set themselves when you have renewed manually or when creating a listing. Because that does automagically happen sometimes. There are threads on the forums about this. Keep an eye on it, and there is a one click option for manual renewal you can use on your dashboard to periodically make sure they're all set right (it does not change the dates).
