I've been trying for the last 45 minutes to send a PDF to a customer using Etsy messages, but keep getting a red box with the message
"Hmm. Something went wrong. Please try again." Is anyone else having this issue?
I don't believe you can send attachments in PDF format. I've been using Jpeg.
@GrandGear Thanks for responding. PDFs indeed work, I've been doing it for years. Etsy will allow PDFs, JPGs, PNGs for sure, and maybe a few others.
Etsy seems a bit glitchy the last couple days, so maybe my problem is just part of their overall issues.
I'm sorry. It seems I had the opposite problem a while back and since then I've stuck with jpeg format. Indeed Etsy has been a bit ratty very recently. Good luck with your PDFs!
Finally got it to work, must have just been some temporary hiccup.
I have been trying to attach jpg photos to a message for a customer all day. Doesn't work. Yesterday I could only type messages in all caps. Wonder what the customers think. Also hate that I cannot edit type already entered correctly. New type characters always go to the end of the message.
@BellStudios Are you havimg this problem using an Etsy app or via mobile browser or desktop browser (it makes a difference as to possible causes and potential solutions, otherwise we have to guess). There have been several other reports today of message issues on mobile devices.
I am on a laptop browser, using google chrome, Windows 11.
@BellStudios : We just tried on Windows 10 Firefox browser, Linux Firefox browser, Linux Chromium browser, and Linux Brave browser and cannot duplicate your issue for PDFs or JPEGs.
Same problem; unable to attach a photo to a message (laptop/chrome).
Sounds like it could possibly an issue with the Chrome browser - do you have the same issue with a different browser?
Turns out my problem with attaching photos was due to operator error. My screen capturing software, used to copy the photos from another computer, had reverted to a default photo saving format rather than the jpg format. Once I was able to change the format in Photoshop, attaching the photos didn't pose a problem. Sorry for the confusion.
