15 yeas on etsy, smooth shipping bage, 4,8 reviews, account was put in reserve with no explanation given (I was told due to privacy they can't tell me why) . Once the order was shipped, and usps shows tracking updates, money are never released untill I message support and somebody in India would go ahead and release them. One order now shows pretransit, however usps shows full tracking details, etsys tech refuses to release MY Money. What kind of nonsense is this?
@FashionTouch Here's some info from the Etsy Help Center on Payment Reserve.
" If a Payment account reserve is placed on a seller’s account, a percentage of funds from each new sale of a physical item is set aside until the order is in transit with valid tracking or for 45 days if valid tracking is not provided. The Payment account reserve ends after 90 days, unless the shop receives an Etsy policy violation during the reserve period.
If your Payment account has a reserve, you may be able to receive the full funds from a sale sooner than 45 days by adding tracking that shows the order in transit. Sellers in the US, Canada, Australia, and the UK can buy shipping labels directly on Etsy that may include tracking. Learn about customer service best practices. "

That's exactly why I posted att Admins, the tracking is added and showing updates and money not released for over 3 days. And I get no reasonable reply from contacting etsy.
Admins aren't going to come to the forums to read your post. You're only going to reach other sellers. You have to go through support
"Admins aren't going to come to the forums to read your post. "
You know, as soon as you post that to someone ..............
Etsy admin magically appear in the forum and right the OP's issue.
Did you issue refunds for any of the bad review situations? There are quite a few and Etsy sees that as red flag if too many refunds are issued in a short time. Or is it possible that some of these customers opened cases? That also is a red flag for Etsy. There are also no responses from you to any of the poor reviews. All of this looks bad on you end, I’m afraid. I would start reaching out to customers and/or responding to them and I would also work on fixing the issues brought up in reviews, leaking dye, sizing, lack of lining, etc. maybe that will help.
@FashionTouch Did you read the article I attached ??
No need to tell me about "not western enough". I'm an immigrant from far east myself. Obviously, the system is manually processed, as per etsys policy once the order is shipped and showing tracking updates the money supposed to be released. For every order, the updates were showing for 2-3 days and I saw no money, I had to message etsys support and only then money manually would be released with some copy paste messages from the overseas people, who would refer to some not related orders that are not even due. Obviously, the people over there are not trained properly, no do they know any shipping realities over here. Plus, on many cases order preview will snow pretransit, but when click on the order shows updates. And as far as feedback, I have another store with excellent feedback, same on reserve. And plenty of other stores, who had been on etsy for over 10 years, with 5 star reviews and 100s of thousands sales are leaving now because of this new reserve. Aint nobody of these stores are any potential risk.
I am about to join that exodus from Etsy,- after 10 years of selling with no problems I have been placed on reserve.
It's the final straw for me, that and the recent article in The Times highlighting how much Ali baba type mass produced tat is for sale on Etsy at grossly inflated prices, none of it handmade of craft intended,- not a good look for my business to be associated with a platform like that!
These payment holds are arbitrary, it is a real mess. Such thing like treating all sellers as criminals before proven innocent is beyond unconstitutional, we should all put our shops in vacation mode (those who can afford it) to stop endorsing this tyranny.
I ship same day since I started on etsy many years ago, had a 5 star rating till a buyer with not a clue about an item she was purchasing ordered two of my items and asked for a return label and a refund, which I fully refunded. That was enough for etsy to put a hold on my payments.
By the matter of fact they lifted the payments hold after a week and look at this one..... I got again the payment hold when other items were automatically relisted and the balance showed negative.
So resuming, it is not a shipping thing like they say, there is ton of BS involved
Hopefully they will get sued their nuts off into bankruptcy by greedy lawyers after pulling this one. This is an easy one for constitutional lawyers. And then things getting sorted out with the new ownership.
it is not a shipping thing like they say,
Etsy has a list of different things that trigger reserves, shipping on time with tracking is only one,
answering messages on time is another,
refunding is another,
an uptick in sales is another,
not having legal policies is also another, which means, as you ship to EU/UK you need 30 day return policy on all listings, a GDPR policy, your address and e-mail address in sellers details, and tick the trader box underneath, - you are selling illegally without this - so people in glass houses....
