After app update, my old, unused Etsy shop is shown in place of my current shop

Jump to solution

After updating the Etsy sellers app, my android phone and  iPad seem to be fine, but the update on my Chromebook was difficult. I cleared my cache, updated my laptop, and finally was able to get the app to load. When I logged in, my old, unused shop with a totally different name is in place of my current shop.  27 Pies Vintage.
I’ve uninstalled/reinstalled the app, and rebooted the laptop, any ideas what to try next?

You need to sign out of the old shop and then sign into your newer shop with the current email address you set up your new shop with. I hope that helps.

I'm confused how you got the Etsy app to work on a laptop. Apps are only designed to work on mobile devices.

If you are using a browser on your laptop then you need to make sure you are fully logged out of your old shop before you can log in to your new shop (as @SaraBachArt suggests).

OP is using a Chromebook, and you can install apps on them. They look like laptops, but it's like using a giant tablet-laptop.

Yes, I’ll try logging out again. Thank you!  I’m not sure about the app. The only reason I even attempted this was because when I tried to edit my shop on my iPad, I got a pop up that said it couldn’t be done on mobile devices, just on a ‘home computer’.  I only have a newer Chromebook, so I just got the app through the google play store.  It seems every time I have something figured out, Etsy makes ‘improvements’.
